Thinking about starting my 16m DS on French. Muzzy costs so much though, even through Ebay!
Has anyone had any experience of it?

Pal of mine started it with her 2 yr DS had no interest whatsoever , bumper cos I too fancy the idea of ickle ones learning a language. You never know each child likes different things , my ds loves learning sign ????? strange as we dont know anyone who has a earing difficulty.

Although it's quite good and ds1 quite likes it - I would say that brand new it's way overpriced for what it is. In retrospect I would have gone the Ebay route and probably won't bother with the next level up.

Ooh Hi Casmie
What can DS say? How far does Level 1 go? Did you try it too?
Zoe - Ds also does signing & loves to communicate in any way. Don't compete against me in Ebay though!

He can't say much, tbh Well he repeats the words when I bother to put it on (we were diligent to start with, but it got boring) - much more fun to actually go to the country and teach him a few words to say while we're there

ds is 6 and the ads have quite put him off learning French (he does German atm but is likely to move to a school where they do French instead).

Think it is all a bit of a rip off as in Europe they show the English version on Tv anyway. There was a thread a while back which linked a site selling some recommended alternatives.

Do you or DH/DP speak any yourself as language seems to come easier if it is heard conversationally regularly.

No we have no languages, but always wished my parents had spoken 2 to me.
Have already looked at other chat & site but did not like them as much. I think the idea of a cartoon character having a series of adventures would be more appealing.
Not going to pay full price though. V popular on Ebay unfortunately!
