Doomoos - Anyone heard of them? Anyone got one?

I've just stumbled on a product called a Doomoo

Check "here www.baby2k.com/shopbyBrand.cfm?recordId=448&productColourIndex=1&stage=3"

They look great, but I've never heard of them!

Anyone got any views on whether they are good / bad / not worth it?

Thanks!

looks a bit like this beanbag thing from mothercare although it says it only does up to 6 months

They look great for a PFB, but potentially disastrous if you have a baby plus toddler

Awwwwwwwwww. Bless. I was going to post that it is clearly not a needed item....and I then checked out the link. I would like to order the chocolate and pink one with a nice fresh baby on it. When I can pick it up?

Let us know if you get one. It looks comfy. DH is asking about adult-sized ones...

I had one with baby and toddler Absolutely fab, and comfy and wonderful, transformed my breastfeeding. until it got a teeny tiny hole and aforementioned toddler got several hundred/thousand small poly balls all over the nursery. Took 3 days to clean it all up!

I've seen them in a shop and they look really cosy. Would they replace a bouncer?

Accessorizequeen ... hope you don't mind me asking but how did it transform breastfeeding for you? I'm 34w with twins and and contemplating one of the Eze-2 nurse pillows - would this be a better option. Am imagining all sorts of wierd b/f positions but I see a smaller cushion and maybe that's what you used for positioning?

accessorizequeen · 28/04/2008 10:42

I think a bouncer would be much safer for later on, once they start moving etc. Both quite useful really. Millie, I'm having twins too (17 weeks) and I don't think it would be big enough whereas I've seen the ezy to nurse one recommended on here by several people (e.g. Marslady) who ought to know what's good. I had lots of trouble with positioning with ds2 mainly because I have v.large boobs I think, I found a v-shaped pillow just didn't fit round my body properly and was so heavy once he got to 3 months (when I still needed a cushion to be comfy). It put him at the exact right height, he was comfy and I didn't have to reach or hold him up or anything. When feeding 8-10 times a day (as I was when I bought it) that made a huge difference. I'm guessing more so with twins! No backache=transforms my life

Bfing twins completely different I am imagining as if you wanted to feed together I think there are two main positions rugby (under-arm style) or some other arrangement I am pushed to describe where one's on top of the other. I'm just finding out about this myself as only just knew about twins last week.

Congrats on your twins Accessorizequeen. How are you feeling? The Doomoo seems to have worked wonders for you with your DS but I would tend to agree that the Ezy-2 nurse is probably best for twins. I'm intrigued by the second b/feeding position you mention and must make a point of having a good read of my La Leche League 'Mothering Multiples' book now and start educating myself!! I fed my other two (not twins) sitting on the couch with cushions piled up on whatever side the baby was feeding on ... don't think that's going to work this time round!

accessorizequeen · 29/04/2008 21:52

Hi again millie. Thought I had replied last night, but it got lost I think. I haven't even looked at ezy2nurse, but anything that makes feeding twins easier sounds good to me! If you're feeding them one at a time, then piles of pillows will prob. work fine though. It's hard to know until they arrive. Will keep an eye out for you and how you get on, could they arrive any day?

millie1 · 29/04/2008 22:12

Hope to goodness they don't arrive soon!! Scheduled for c-section in 3 weeks at 38w and really want to make it that far. Am going to order the pillow tomorrow so will keep you posted about what it's like. From what I've read (which isn't much as yet), seems like it's best to start off with feeding one at a time and then progress to dual feeding. Would like to feed them together as one at a time will be too time consuming & I need to spend time with their older siblings .

accessorizequeen · 29/04/2008 22:25

Well, fingers crossed for you! How old are your other two? I'm panicking about ds2, who is just 17 months and not walking yet. I hate the thought of spending no time with him but remember how hard it was when he came along to spend time with his brother (3 at the time)>
