Present for someone in Ireland

My niece moved back to Ireland earlier this year. Because of brexit, sending her anything seems difficult and potentially expensive. I sent her baby clothes in May and these were returned by Customs. Not allowed. Apparently you can't gift an amazon gift card. Any ideas?

Can you send something (or a voucher) from a local shop?
Pretty much anything sent through the post from the UK will attract custom charges now.

How about a gift card for Dunnes or M&S?

Is it possible to send electronic vouchers?

Shop on an Irish website and send it to her from there.

it's a pain in the bum trying to post gifts of clothes to Ireland. Buy from an Irish website and send that way. Brown Thomas or Arnotts

M and S have an Irish site too, as do H&M and lots of other places

Absolutely tons of different things on here https://www.shopinireland.ie The website was set up during covid to help small businesses who would typically supply gift shops or go to craft markets etc.

Baby clothes should have been ok because there's no VAT on children's clothes, but perhaps you didn't fill out a customs declaration on the packaging which may have caused it to be sent back.

A Dunnes e voucher would be lovely

I second the suggestion of shopinireland. I am in Ireland and use it for a lot of my gift shopping. You can get some really lovely gifts that are unique. Avoca, Quinlans, Killkenny store are other gift shops that could be worth looking into.

Thanks everyone. That website looks great.

Btw when I sent clothes last time I did fill out a customs form. The documentation I got back said they couldn't be sure what country the goods originated from. I probably misunderstood the form but I don't know how. Anyway I want to avoid this again as it was embarrassing to discover a long time later that it never arrived.

If you still want to send kid's clothes, I often buy things from this website for my granddaughter. It's a bit pricy but the cotton is nice and thick and the designs are cute. https://faunakids.ie

I also bought her winter gear from this website, again pricy but cute. https://wearegoose.ie
