ds3 is due in august ds2 will be only just 1. really not sure which double to go for. i really liked the single 3 wheelers as they were a lot easier to push, therefore would like a double version.

really need help with this one! which are the best to buy and best to avoid????

I have the double Nipper and really like it. I wouldn't go for the Mothercare on as I think it's wider than the Nipper. I can just about get through all doors and around shops with Nipper anything any wider though and I would have problems.

Bky · 26/04/2008 12:20

Just checked Mothercare one is almost 10cm wider than Nipper, is not a chance I would get that through the shop doorways I have been in, Nipper just about gets through.

martini82 · 26/04/2008 12:24

thx bky! hmmm maybe i should get one for out walking and a little umbrella fold one for the shops??? decisions decisions!

The mclaren twin techno is 75cm so pretty slim but have heard it is hard to push especially with babies of different sizes.

I am happy (ish) with my double but they are all pretty awful

am in same position and have narrowed it down to buying either a jane power twin or a mountain buggy

martini82 · 27/04/2008 08:17

i wish you could go to one shop and see them all lined up than do a try before you buy would be much easier! well you can test drive a car why not a pushchair!

tell me about it and regardless of which shop you go to their never have them all!

apparently mothercare in aberdeen has both the MB and the powertwin so will either have to haul us all up there or back down to Glasgow

someone has just told me powertwin not tall enough for the wee one after just about making up my mind and nearly buying one on ebay

aarrgghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

martini82 · 27/04/2008 08:44

i'm now considering the mountain buggy but am worried that i wont like it and it is a lot of money to waste!

I know how you feel. I did see one in the Glasgow pram centre on Thurs but STUPIDLY didn't try dd2 in it as had put her on top seat of a P&T and she wasn't best pleased with it

the very nice lady told me not to bother trying her in the MB so I didn't - am pillock

now either going to have to go back down or wing it

do you have a big mothercare near to you? they stock the MB AND powertwins in their larger stores - our local one is just a small one and doesn't have either

you can get pretty decent/new looking powertwins on ebay for approx £200-£250 MBs come in at a lot more

AARRGGHHHHHHHH

I swear if I buy this thing and dd2 decides to behave and walk everywhere nicely I shall nail gun her to it anyway

martini82 · 27/04/2008 09:00

i suppose could always sell them on e bay after and get some money back on it, just notice a buggy board can be fitted on this one too that will come in handy for ds3, although i'll fell like a donkey pushing them all around!!!

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 27/04/2008 09:04

I have a buggy board on the back of my single jane so presume it would manage on back of powertwin but dd1 will be 5 so hoping won't need it until using single with dc2 and dd2 once she is a bit older

is it just me or does your head hurt with all this too?!?

martini82 · 27/04/2008 09:12

hurts lots!! then once i get one my bank balance will hurt lots too.

if its the lascal buggy board you have it will fit the powertwin check out the buggyboard.info

my ds1 will be nearly 5 too but can't stand the moaning if we are shopping all day! or if it is really busy and hes running around.

my dd1, the nearly 5 one, is fine and will walk very nicely and will also be in school from august

its dd2, nearly 2, who is needing restrained in some sort of way so I can do the school run/dog walking etc

I just don't want to spend a huge amount on a double that will maybe be used for a year-18months but am being picky as we walk a lot AND want new baby to be comfy lol

martini82 · 27/04/2008 09:30

my ds2 will be only just 1 so i'll get quite a bit of use out of it but he'll be going to playschool at 2.5 hmm never thought of that!

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 27/04/2008 09:34

lol another thing to think about

Eponyme · 28/04/2008 11:12

How about the Phil and Teds twin, its 73cms and a delight to push around, it has a great big shopping basket, adjustable handle and a bumper bar that the toddler loves. The only downside is its heavy to pick up when folded so not an ideal car-boot buggy. If you have a garage to keep it in assembled it would be perfect.

martini82 · 30/04/2008 21:13

decision made!!! out and about nipper 360!!!!
