VP, i have a dakar its currently at my sisters house, but its my back-up buggy. was an imulse buy admittingly, but the car seat will fit in my car for #4, and the buggy is good and sturdy. not as good off-road as the MB, but a really wide seat with excellant head/hood clearence.

To add something into the mix, I have a Mutsy, and its great off road, and has a seat unit that can be forward or rearward facing.

be warned the blue is v v bright. makes a difference to all the various greys being sold elsewhere though.

another one for you to think about - if you can find one - we have an easylife sport. got it second hand on ebay for under 100 quid in perfect nick for our then-3-yr-old to sleep in at festivals. is fantastic, nicely functional, no unnecessary friparies, built like a tank. is large enough for average 5-yr-old, but was fine for our 3 month old at festies too (as well as carting all our gear from the car park ). isn't the easiest to get up and down, but it does what it says on the tin, eats up rough ground, is great up and down curbs in town but wouldn't want to take it on the bus and it doesn't go through my mum's front door

Another vote here for the UD, I love mine. It fits in the boot of my VW Polo. The only con is that it's quite heavy so lifting it when folded is quite hard work. It's a dream to push though and turns on a sixpence.

puppydavies · 22/04/2008 20:30

oops am very slow on uptake today, didn't spot you'd already ordered

oiFoiF · 22/04/2008 20:32

i have an icoo platon 3 which is brilliant

Another vote for the Urban Detour, it is really, really well made and has taken a tremendous amount of abuse, including on the beach, heavy to lift in and out of the car, but light to push and very cosy for newborn with a footmuff.

xts twister is brilliant.only down points for me are folding is crap, and is quite wide but not too wide.my ds is now 2 and i still love it when he has occasional ride!mine was cheap on ebay.

martini82 · 22/04/2008 21:16

just to throw another in the mix the mamas & papas sport 03 is fantastic! it was the only 3 wheeler off road that i could find where my ds feet didn't touch the wheel. it pushes like a dream! and it was reasonable cheap compared to others at the time.

Kezza7779 · 25/04/2008 17:38

the mamas and papas 03 sport weighs more than me! i like it until i tried to pick it up and put it in the boot!
Why is the vigour not an off roader? it clearly states it is in the desription..... having tested it myself i dont see why it isnt? also its great for off road as the tyres arent blow up they are rubber therefore no punctures??!!!
