hi all

just wondered if anyone on here has got one and what they think of it. it seems the most practical for us (has a carrycot attachment and still only weighs a few kilos)

I know there were problems with the earlier versions so just wanted to do as much research as possible before buying

thank you for any help!

hmm has nobody got one? i was hoping for some feedback from real people

I have only heard bad reports about them even though they have revised the design a little. I got the pramette instead with the car seat / travel system.

miamla · 23/04/2008 16:43

yeah, that's the other one we're looking at but DP wants one with a bar instead of two handles.

i've seen a few people out and about using the luna. perhaps i should just pluck up the courage to talk to them!

thanks for your post soremummy

You must make sure you use the bumper bar on it when in pushchair mode. The harness is useless for older babies.

The newer version does seem improved on the older version, it is nice and light and easy to steer one handed.

I do think the pramette is better, the individual handles mean you can hang bags on them and the built in step is a great buggy board in the future.

miamla · 23/04/2008 16:53

hi CarGirl, thanks go to you too!

the harness was one of my main concerns.
DP and I have already investigated how we can make it "less free"!

you say keep the bumper on for older babies, so am i right in reading from that that the harness is ok for smaller babies?

Probably until they are around 9 months and start throwig themselves around at a guess? One suggestion is to sew a loop of fabric that you can thread the shoulder strap through behing where the babies back is if that makes sense. Alternative you could use standard baby reins attached to the D rings.

soremummy · 23/04/2008 16:59

im gonna get one of these for my little one nearly one but a little imp! Im thinking of selling my pramette and car seat as A: I dont drive anymore and B: It's been foled up under the stairs for 6 weeks now whilst I use my 03 series 3 wheeler.

miamla · 23/04/2008 16:59

ooh sewing a loop of fabric on the back is a great idea! far better than our thoughts so far!
also hadn't thought about using a different rein
thank you!

i really like the luna and i'm worried i'm being swayed by the colour and the lightweightness (is this even a word!) of the carrycot and pushchair!

(can you tell i'm a first-timer?!!)

I have had experience before with a little houdini (17yrs ago) and this little monkey is the same but I used to put reins on back to front attached to D ring on pushchair only way to keep him in

miamla · 23/04/2008 17:03

soremummy..that clip is ingenious!

OP posts:
miamla · 23/04/2008 17:06

and putting the reins on back to front? excellent plan!

OP posts:
soremummy · 23/04/2008 17:06

this lo is terrible for getting straps off her sholders so havve ordered one of those clips if it works will be getting another because she is little (13lbs) and straps on highchair dont hold her in sorry typos i have ahelper

soremummy · 23/04/2008 17:07

yes if you fasten reins at the front of chest they have no room for movement but was for his safety

CarGirl · 23/04/2008 17:09

Yes it's not them escaping that is the issue it's the fact that they can lean right forwards and to either side so can tip the buggy or you can whack their hads on doorframes/shops stands etc - much much better with the bumper bar on.

Lightness is a big issue though!

nappyaddict · 24/04/2008 01:01

i like the new 3 wheeler version. the 4 wheeler version isn't very good. the small wheels at the front get stuck when you go down kerbs but the 3 wheeler doesn't look like it will do that.

LookattheLottie · 24/04/2008 17:13

I have a 4 wheeled luna and I love it! It does everything I need it to. It's so light and easy to fold as well. Would recommend any day. The only issue I've had with mine is it can be a bit tricky getting down the curb with the front wheels, but I usually bump down with the back wheels so not much of an issue!

miamla · 24/04/2008 17:51

now you see Lottie, that's exactly what i wanted to hear!
when did you buy yours?

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 24/04/2008 20:44

humph what was wrong with what i said!

nappyaddict · 24/04/2008 20:45

btw lottie - do yours get stuck too?

miamla · 25/04/2008 13:50

nappyaddict sorry, didn't mean to upset anyone but you were saying that the 3 wheeler was better and its the 4 wheeler we like!

looks like getting stuck in the gutter is a common symptom of a luna!

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 25/04/2008 17:18

oh know i don't know if it's better it just looks better.

nappyaddict · 25/04/2008 17:18

first know should be no

LookattheLottie · 25/04/2008 18:11

Oh I wouldn't be without mine, I've had more prams than I can remember and I never really settled on one, until I got my gorgeous Luna!

It is fantastic, I have mine in bright pink because I'm a complete child and love pink lol! They also have it in an amzing orange colour now as well.

It does have a couple of faults, but every pram does. Personally not a huge fan of 3 wheeled buggies so I do prefer the older version (mine) as opposed to the new. I think the 4 wheeled one looks better too, but it all comes down to what you like.

The only issue's I have with mine is that the shopping basket can be a bit small at times, and it's really low down and close to the back wheels so never put your handbag in it on a muddy day. I learnt the hard way - it was such a nice bag as well! Oh and the front wheels going down curbs can be tricky, but I wouldn't say mine have ever got me stuck. Just use the back wheels.

And I'm just about to buy the bumper bar for mine as dd's a madam and can wriggle out of the straps!

LookattheLottie · 25/04/2008 18:15

Oh and on another plus, mamas and papas are fantastic if you have any problems. I broke the zip on the apron the other day (all my fault - numpty!) and I went in and said about it. They took my details on the Sunday, by Tuesday I had a brand new apron for the pram sent out - all free of charge.
