A to B magazine has got an article this month about cycling with a little baby in a trailer - a converted one from Halfords, I think. We use a Bobike Mini for DS (12 months) which goes on the front handlebars and is lovely. I like having him there where I can see him and he can wave to people and babble. Also I'm really aware of how much he bumps up and down, which I wouldn't be if he was behind me/in a trailer. If you're small though, do think about the practicalities of getting on/off the bike - I'm quite tall, and I still find it tricky managing everything and keeping everything upright.

We have a Burley D'Lite trailer - didn't pay quite that much for it, but it is excellent quality, with suspension, storage, UV cover etc etc

Trailers are fab, but do make cycling much much harder, esp on hills - great exercise though. I reckon mine weighs about 7stone with DD 3.10yrs, DS 13mths, toys, picnic etc - and it's a very lightweight trailer to start with!

I wouldn't use it on proper roads though, we stick to either v v quiet roads or mostly trails.

we have seats, we got a trailer off ebay but DT2 wouldn't go in it - we tried and tried to no avail so resold it, we have hamax sleepy seats, they are really good and last well
