Bodywork vg
one mouse nibble to the interior
wheels need chroming but sound
No straps, tis a cutie, with metal hinges where straps would be.

I love it but no space so is out under porch

Hood fine but faded.

No I laughed

CarGirl · 06/04/2008 13:50

I was going to say you could borrow mine and if you managed to do any restorations on it as a thank you it would be an added bonus.

Mine looks in good condition at first glance ony to the experts would the think - this that need doing IYSWIM

ivykaty44 · 06/04/2008 13:51

I had that very same pram as a dolls pram. With dd2 a neighbour leant me a caoch built pram and I just used it for the infant school pick up and for dd2 to sleep in the hall or garden. It was lovely to push and she stayed in it till she was one.

Sorry just read thread and cargirl was there first! [sorry cargirl]

Still welcome to mine tho if you want. Have two! Go on!!!

CarGirl · 06/04/2008 13:52

LOl - flight exactly, why not restore 2 to take your mind off the morning sickness, it's not like you're busy or anything

flight · 06/04/2008 13:54

Aw. My mum had two for us, one each, it makes a hilarious picture, two small children each in a mahoosive pram with sun canopies, outside a council house in Essex.

misdee · 06/04/2008 13:54

lol, you two are craaazy.

but you know how adorable proper prams are, you can also borrow my toddler seat and raincover to get daily use out of it

misdee · 06/04/2008 14:00

lol, i know.

but i just noticed the ££ tag on the one i linked to [gulp]

was thinking of spending a max of £30 on one from car boot sale lol. where my parents and sisters have a caravan, there is a massive boot sale and you see loads down there pretty cheap.

current buggy which i am keeping isnt suitable for newborns. carrycot for it is very pricey.

Misdee, I love the coach built prams. I bought one from ebay when ds1 was about 2 years old! We used it for walks and it lived int he garage. Then I moved to London when pregnant with ds2 and thought how fabulous it would be for long walks in Regent's Park. I was devastated when I realised it would not fit in my lift (live in a flat now). I ended up selling it which was devastating. I am pregnant with ds3 now and would love to still have it.

I replaced it with an Emmaljunga pram. Not coach built of course, but they are quite similar in the way they handle. I still have it and will use it for walks in the park with ds3. No good for public transport of course.

flight · 06/04/2008 14:01

I didn't know you liked them Cargirl.

I had a LBC for Ds1. It was so lovely but huuuuuge. I sold it for restoration. Paid £40, got £40. I believe they sold it on for around £800

windygalestoday · 06/04/2008 14:01

i had a vintage original big wheel little wheel in bottle green for ds3 - i loved it!! he slept like a log in it covered in matching pram bedding,i could fit loads of shopping underneeath indeed ds2 often hitched a lift that way- it really is lovely i lived deep in the heart of rural country tho with miles to walk everyday just to get to school and shop!!

misdee · 06/04/2008 14:01

IlanaK, i dont use public transport so walk a lot in the early days. i found it always help me try and get over pnd, which i suffer. good long walks help keep my head clear of not goood thoughts.

Yes I loved my coach built prams (been through 3) I'm tempted to keep it in case I ever have grandchildren - it's just storing it in the meantime. Which is why I would be quite happy to loan it out to someone who would take care of it.

Misdee I only live J11 of M25 - not that far away.

misdee · 06/04/2008 14:06

thank you cargirl

CarGirl · 06/04/2008 14:12

well when you get overtaken by that urge let me know, I polished all the chrome work a few weeks ago, at least then you're doing someone a favour rather than indulging your pram addiction................

SparklyGothKat · 06/04/2008 16:37

nooooo misdee you can borrow my M&P pramette, you don;t need a new one!!

CarGirl · 06/04/2008 17:04

But the pramette is titchy and not a proper mattress with a lovely bouncy chassis, there is no comparison!

sussies · 06/04/2008 18:41

My kids are 13 and 9 I had a Silver Cross coach built for both of mine (2 different ones) i brought them both2nd hand for a £100 used them for 3 years and sold them for £90 not bad eh a tenner for 3 years worth of pram. Through sun, hail, snow, thick mud and sand at the beach my prams were like tanks and got me through it like a hot knife through butter. My sister on the other hand has had every pram known to mankind and my mam is always complaining that they are not as good. My ds was prem and was on home o2 for a year; a year of o2 cylinders on the bottom of the pram, my baby and dd on the top in one of those clip on seat thingys no problems it looked like new at the end. My scbu friend mind you went through two brand new prams hoiking her o2 cylinder and baby in the same time span!
Your choice. But, if I was to have another baby (highly unlikely as the last one nearly killed me!) I would get a coach built every time.

Teaandcake · 08/04/2008 09:10

Go for it Misdee. I loved my Huge Silver Cross like this.

Mine was a bargain eBay find though!

The only problem with it was all the attention it drew. I couldn't get to where I was going for stopping to talk to older ladies admiring it and reminiscing (sp?) about their prams. I was literally mobbed one day in the Marks & Spencer coffee shop by elderly ladies cooing over my pram (and my lovely DS)!

sussies · 08/04/2008 16:04

I had a Balmoral for dd and a Kensingtonwith o2 cylinder! for ds I preferred the Balmoral. I just loved the bits that went with it, Sun Canopy, pram bag and the little seat for the top. I regularly used to fit two babies in it sitting across from one and other to play.

sussies · 08/04/2008 16:05

Oh and I agree with teacake, I to used to be mobbed with old ladies cooing over the pram.
