Micralite or Techno XT?

I need a buggy!
Am selling my icandy cherry and mutsy urban rider cos I need an umbrella folding buggy.
These two are my narrowed down ideas...
But... my dd has her daily nap in her pushchair so it has to be comfy.
Some people say their children hate the Maclaren as its too bone shakery and the child doesn't sleep in it.
OTOH some people say their child won't sleep in the micralite as it doesn't recline enough...
Any experience/feedback welcomed :-D

I'm thinking of the micralite for my as yet bump! It's a Which? best but and my sister loves hers. I think the new one toro reclines enough to be suitable for newborns (rather than the fastfold which doesn't).

Not much help but I'll be watching the thread!

I love my XT, as does DD3 (23m) (she complains about her 'proper' graco puschair).

It has suspension which is much better than the daytripper I also have (and we have to go over a pile of rubble disguised as a carpark on the school run.

I don't like the look of hte micralite. Because of the traingle shape the child looks too squiched in at the shoulders to me once they get to a certain size.

rosealbie · 04/04/2008 23:02

I loved my XT and dd had no problems sleeping in it at all. It wasn't at all boneshakery iirc.

PixelHerder · 04/04/2008 23:03

I'd agree with SMS, have got a Techno and the suspension is good, as is the recline. I also don't like the way the front wheels splay out on the Micralite, I'm quite clumsy and I could see me bashing them into shop displays, people's ankles etc

cheesesarnie · 04/04/2008 23:03

i loved my micralite how old is your dd?i only had mine for a holiday but ds 2 slept fine in it-wasnt huge difference in recline.great folding and steering, basket isnt fab but was ok for us.(i was used to huge basket on twister).ive not tried xt but have tried volo and quest

pamplemousse · 04/04/2008 23:05

PH me too I would probably run also of things over as they splay out...
Didn't realise the Techno had suspension.... is that new for the xt model?
Do you know everyone said I'd end up buying a maclaren, damn them!!!
Ninja I think you can get carry cots for them as they don't seem to recline much I don't think...?

The only downside was that so many people have the xt

SlightlyMadSweet · 04/04/2008 23:07

The recline on the XT is virtually flat (unlike quest). Also I don't think the lower maclarens like the quest and stuff have the suspension.

SlightlyMadSweet · 04/04/2008 23:09

Yes it does have suspension. It is probably not comparable to a mountain buggy or somehting like that but for a stroller it is v v good.

I can feel the difference between the day tripper and the XT over the rubble and I am only pushing.

I've got a Micralite Toro (the new one - not the triangle shaped one) and it does fully reline so my little fella sleeps in it no prob. Never have noticed or felt a problem with the front wheels??

I also have a Mutsy - and still love it as it is much bigger and more roomy than all the others.

The Micralite is not an umbrella fold - but it does fold in one piece and is fairly flat (and is accepted on planes etc). I think it's brill.

pamplemousse · 04/04/2008 23:13

Hmm can't afford a Toro and don't care if everyone has a maclaren tbh.
SMS its good to know that it has suspension, obv not like an air tyred pushchair but takes some rumbles, we have a park nearby which is ridiclously bumpy, so need a bit of give.
