No and I would say no way are they a necessary part of life! You might find a hand held blender thing useful - Tesco do a basic one for less than a tenner I think. You can use a pan or bowl of hot water to warm things or a microwave (stir very carefully and check). Babies don't just eat puree anyway - if you're weaning at six months you would probably use a lot more stuff the baby holds. I've always weaned at 4 months plus btw - and survived very well without the gadgets!

we just got a normal blender/liquidiser thingy that was cheap and cheerful and i knew id use for more than pureed baby food(if i could cook more than a puree!)i think price is a big ott for a blender.id get a normal one that does same job for less than half the price

Thanks, what about those lindam ones? they are only £15.00. I dont have a microwave and I really dont have the room to get one.
