4 or 5 loaves a WEEK, I mean.

We used to have one but found that the breead was very heavy and dense. Do you think it was down to the breadmaker? I'm wondering if we should investigate the Panasonic.

lubyloo, I'm really glad we bought another one. The bread we get now is all fluffy and well risen and doesn't smell of yeast - and the crusts are divine. And yet we're using all the same ingredients that we used to put in the Morphy Richards - I think the heating element may have been faulty on it because the bread often rose lop-sided.

Thanks Duchess. Ours also smelled of yeast so it does sound like it was our breadmaker (also a Morphy Richards) Now I just have to persuade DH...

why did the baker have smelly hands?

cosima · 05/04/2008 16:45

because he kneaded a poo!

I loved mine, but it broke so I have started to make bread by hand (eek!!! MUCH easier than you think and only really takes 15 mins actual effort), can make 3 small loaves at a time and they are even nicer than Breadmaker bread imo as seem to have a bit more flavour. If you are pushed for time though I would def get a breadmaker as bread from it is loads nicer than most shop bought, and lots cheaper too

flour from here

A locla farm shop sells this flour and as it is all fairly local (gloustershire next county along) I get there three seed and sunflower brown flour.

Then I mix it half and half or 8:5oz with a white bread flour. We like it this way as it isn't to heavy and dense and although normally we never used to touch white bread from the supermarket it is different completly when you make the bread yourself.
