ooh heated we had one of those... god what a pita it was

procrastinatingparent · 02/04/2008 20:28

Ikea one. Absolutely no question. Now on it's fourth child, still looks like new, completely easy to clean, cheap so if you hate it (but you won't) you haven't spent much money.

frc72 · 02/04/2008 20:29

Ikea one everytime - ds and his nanny share buddy use it every day (now they're 21 months), easily wipe clean and sooo cheap. About £14 from memory and yes sadly it involves going to Ikea but frankly you'd be saving yourself enough cash to splash on a post-Ikea recovery massage...

procrastinatingparent · 02/04/2008 20:31

Someone posted this one at Lidl earlier - but it's not as good as the Ikea one, I'll bet you any money.

lilQuidditchKel · 02/04/2008 21:05

the Ikea Antelop does come with a tray which is simple to snap in and out, but also very stable! I really love mine to pieces! I'm so glad I didn't waste money on a high chair - as other said - my DS only needed one for 15 mo max, and then it was on to a soft booster seat (thank you Mothercare) on top of one of our regular chairs.

Spend the money on something else!

lilQuidditchKel · 02/04/2008 21:06

...and I don't work for Ikea either! (I bought mine off ebay, remember?) so actually thinking about it, it's now on it's 3rd child. And really it is indestructible. Looks great!

Ikea one

Another vote

I have one, as does my PIL and my parents

easy to clean, functional, perfect

verylittlecarrot · 02/04/2008 21:16

Get the cheapy cheapy cheapo Ikea one whilst you think about the other.

You won't bother with the other.

And I speak as someone who has spent eye watering amounts on baby stuff and also fancied the tripp trapp.

Not any more.

lennygrrr · 02/04/2008 21:20

Either the antilop or the trip trap. both great.

antilop if brokers.

trip trap if more cash available. Plus - you can resell on ebay for a good price.

tripp trapp prettier - and randomly I assume more eco cos it's wood.

lennygrrr · 02/04/2008 21:20

btw - DEFINITELY don't get one of those padded recliney monstrosities. No no no

REIDmylips · 02/04/2008 21:29

I have a £90 padded monstrosity. I went against all the advice the lovely mn ladies gave me, and god i've regretted it ever since!!!!!

Its a PITA to clean, luckil it isnt that horrible once folded up so does hide well. But i regret it sooooooo much!

lennygrrr · 02/04/2008 21:32

(Me too) got one with dd1, was a huge error, have tripp trapp now, wish I'd saved all that money, and just got it in the first place. grrr...

andyrobo237 · 03/04/2008 18:02

Dont get a chicco Polly - great chair and ds has slept in it, but it is a PITA to clean, and I mean a real PITA - food gets trapped everywhere and on the straps - the only way I can get it really clean is to power wash it!!!! Sounds mad but true!!
