Cos I think I want one (automatic in my case), and I want to make sure I've thought of everything before I order it.

dh works for renault & he says that they are good but the scenic is better. no known common faults with the sports tourer as yet as its not that old but would advise manual instead unless you really need an automatic. 1.9dci is the best engine which is a diesel.

We have one, but a petrol version. Ours is a '53' plate, so not sure if there is a newer version. We got ours 2nd hand, so I think we got a v.good deal. It was an ex-display model from renaulttogo. I think they have a website you can browse.

Anyway.

Love - the meshes which are integral in the car doors - no need for sun screens, and you can still have the windows down. This convinced me to buy the car [sad mummy emoticon!] Lots of 12v points - good for your MP3 player, kids DVD player, TomTom etc. Apparently (DH) it has good acceleration for a large car. I think it looks really nice for an estate. All the electrical wizardry - checks tyre pressures, very accurate on if doors are shut, reminds you to put your seatbelt on, checks oil etc.

Hate - the fact that the 6 CD player (maybe 5?) has broken. We don't have a point to plug our MP3 player in to play directly. Our keys broke, and they cost nearly £200 to replace. It has sensors to tell you the tyre pressure, and we've had lots of problems with them. They can only be fixed at a Renault garage. I'd imagine this is the same with most electrical faults it would develop. It's quite a noisy drive (in DH's opinion). You have to cut through the seat cushions to fit Isofix seats (they may have changed this now though, other Renaults don't have this problem). Interior not v.sturdy, some bits have broken - nothing major though. The CD cover never shuts properly, which drives DH mad.

DH says that ours is def. an older model now, and apparently Jeremy Clarkson raved about the never version. Ours is a Privilege (SP?), which is quite a high spec, 2nd from the top I think. I'd never go lower now, as I love all the extra bits.

Touch wood, we've now had it for nearly 4 years, and not much has gone wrong, and we've never broken down or anything. Just annoying when you take it for new brake pads to a quickfit, and they break the tyre sensors which takes ages to get fixed as they try to do it, and can't, so end up having to take it to Renault themselves.

I would get another one, and so would DH.

Generally good news then.

I do need an automatic (I'm a disabled driver) and as I'm getting this on motability, diesel isn't an option. Need the estate for my portable disabled scooter, and don't really fancy the scenic, which wouldn't fit my scooter in as easily anyway.

If I do get one it will be the Dynamique 1.6 petrol, middle of the spec range, so will have sun blinds, leccy windows and cruise control/speed limiter (ooooh, posh!).Hope it will have at least 2 12v sockets, so ds can listen to his cd's in the back.

Whatever, it's got to be an improvement on my astra, which I've grown to hate over the last 3 years.

Thanks for the info.

They're not terribly popular then?
