mattresses - which one to choose?

I need to buy a new mattress ready for our new arrival. Should I go for Natural Fibre or Spring Interior or Pocket to help us make the right decision.

I bought the cheapest one from Mothercare which is only foam but was fine for ds1 and will be fine for ds2 too!! £30.

My dd's was a cheap foam one, too (I think it was £10 from Argos), and was absolutely fine.

depends on how you feel. i went for the most expensive comfortable looking one in mothercare and im not sure theres much difference really...dd just rolls onto the edge of it anyway. ds just had a standard one and that was fine (and after 7 years still very bouncy and used frequently in our garden in summer for tent picnics!) sorry im not much help really am i?

First time we had a M and P natural fibre one and even though ds was not a heavy baby , it seemed to wear more than the Mothercare Sprung one we had for dd next. Only thing I wished I'd had for her was a removable washable cover as she was a sicky babe.

Mckenzie, don't know if you're near Glasgow but if you are I've got a good Mothercare cotbed mattress with a zip off top for sale?

we got the most expensive sprung one from mothercare (hooray for generous friends of my parents!) - i think it was about £80. ds used it 'til he was 2.5 very happily & i intend to use it for our next baby.

We got the Amicor one from mothercare, supposed to help with bacteria or something like that it's a spring one. It's in dd's cot bed so we intend to use it for some time.

The really good thing about foam mattresses is that they are fully washable - so no matter how many accidents or illnesses your baby has, you can have a clean mattress.
