Tripp trapp and babydan - is the only difference the price?

DS is 4 months, starting to sit, so want to think about a highchair so he can watch dh and I eat our dinners! we're planning to do baby-led weaning when he hits 6 months, and like the idea of him sitting at the table with us.

I like the looks of the tripp trapp and have seen then in real life, but have only seen pics of the babydan online. Is it just the same thing cheaper? Or is it worth spending nearly double the money on a tripp trapp?

All advice VERY much appreciated - new to this baby lark!

Love our tripp trapp. Used it with the baby kit and DD1 is still using it as a chair now at 3.9.
Will soon be evicted by her new sister.
They are expensive but we've def had our money's worth from ours!

Thanks noonit! Did you use the cushions too?

Yes, they are a bit tricky to fit (only cos they fit neatly IYKWIM) but wash well etc. Still have cushions on now - think we should have removed the higher back when we took the bar and strap off, but works fine and is comfy.
Think it might be a bit slippy when little without cushions.

Anyone out there got a babydan? or even got a babydan AND a tripp trapp and can explain the differences?

I have a babydan and have used it since dd was 5/6 months without a baby kit and has been great. easy to clean and removable seat cushions are realy easy to remove and wash.

They are v similar but the advantage of the Tripp Trapp over the Babydan chair is that you can adjust the depth of the seat plate so that the baby can bend their legs at the knee and have fully supported feet which in turn gives greater stability at the table.

Much better all round IMO but I know the TT is pricey. Just remember that a TT will never be outgrown, it just turns into an adult chair eventually so you'll never need to part with it.

Ok, after your advice everyone - and trawling the archives - I'm going for the tripp trapp! I've found a deal for the trip trap, baby set and sushions for £139.99 at kiddystore- anyone know of it cheaper?
