Pouch slings - good for a todder?

I love my didymos sling but now ds is walking more it is proving a bit of a shag getting him in and out and adjusted (I got a really long one and am always trailing reams of material in puddles)

I quite often take him out just on a hipseat, but that's a bit of a nuisance as well

I'm thinking of getting a pouch sling but before I waste more hard earned cash has anyone got any recommendations? Also has anyone tried a tonga sling? I think I'd have to put some padding on the shoulder though.

Or is a pouch a waste of time with a toddler?

I've got a fleece pouch sling for my DD2 (8 months) and it's brilliant... and yes, I have carried my DD1 (4) in it, comfortably, for half a mile. I wouldn't want to do it every day mind!

Until last week, I used my fleece pouch on every school run since BabyDragon was born (she's just turned 2). It's been fab - I preferred it to the Hip seat.

Definitely get one with a give to the fabric. Either fleece or one of the "stretch Kimmers" from brightsparkslings.co.uk (although their online store seems to be down ATM)
