Rain Cover for pram

Hi, wonder if anyone can help me out? I've been given a (soft-bodied) Silver cross pram and wondered if anyone knows where I can get hold of a rain cover to cover the whole body of the carrycot. I've had a look in the mothercare catalogue but they only seem to to weathershields for pushchairs/strollers. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried an independnt nursery shop, Katmam? They often stock lots of different makes. Or John Lewis may be able to help, or even Silver Cross themselves. HTH

katmam - mothercare do a raincover for "2 in ones" which covers my pram easily (well, the pram version of my 2 in 1 anyway, but I've not seen a bigger pram). Unfortunately its about £30 but there you go.

Definately try an independant, a pvc for a carrycot should set you back £10 or less!

I got a raincover from Mothercare for my carrycot a few years ago - cost about 20 quid though.

Will happily sell for a tenner if you want. (no longer in packaging but only got used a couple of times - dd went into pushchair shortly after carrycot stage, ds never even had the carrycot stage!)

You might want to look in street markets to see if there is a specialist "prams & pushchairs" stall we have one here in Loughborough! and I know he sells a variety of raincovers.

Thanks for all your messages. I've just remembered mil has independent pram shop in her home town who sells Silver Cross so will ask her to have a look. Will also try Mothercare but I think they may be too small - it's not one of the huge coachbuilt prams but it is definately on the larger side! Good idea about the street markets - there are loads on round here every week so I'll check them out properly too.

Katmam, if it's an older pram it may not need a raincover at all. I have two older children and in those days prams and pushchair fabrics were waterproof - shock horror!

Imo, it was definitely a backwards step to start using materials that were no good in wet weather, a bit like a pair of wellies with holes in the bottom.

SueDonim - yes, it is an older pram. It was my cousin's dds' pram and her eldest is now 10 years old!
