about 200 (may get all relatives to chip in rather than other presents).

I can't find the wretched thread, it must have been in chat.

Have you looked here? I think they will make up the houses (they come as kits) for an extra charge.

farkoffyoufarkers · 21/03/2008 22:02

Got a spare £1100?

farkoffyoufarkers · 21/03/2008 22:04

Some of these are pretty

Has she asked for a dolls' house?

It's just that most 7yo girls I know are well past playing with dolls houses - a sign of the times I know - but it would be expensive to buy this for it not to be played with.

I got a children's dolls house from here a few years ago - they were very helpful. They come flat packed and you put them together yourself - but it's quite easy.

Perhaps you should not get one that is completely 'done'. My dd(11) spends ages playing with her dolls house but it is mostly making things for it- decorating for Christmas, making dolls' clothes, yesterday painting and varnishing furniture. Her friends play with it too- they stocked the kitchen cupboards not long ago and made tiny snakes and ladders etc.

She is young for her age, but is very interested in architecture/design so the half ready option sounds good!

In years gone by lego did a la scala set, my god daughter had it (shes now 14) when ever we stay there it still comes out and our DD nearly 7 loves playing with it because it needs to be "made" and designed. last August i got her one of her own off ebay. Not cheap but alot less than £200. One on offer at the moment

i think I paid £50 and got 2 houses of different designs (one was the summer cottage!)and then a few extras as I saw them come up. Stables with horses and a camping set!

Has the advantage that it can be displayed or put away.
