right all here is a challenge for you (and the results will cheer me up!!)...

as i am clueless can anyone please advise, Links (to pics would be grand and greatly recieved)..

What is the best buggy? requirements:

  • Travel system all in one type - Must convert to accomodate baby lying flat facing me (for when Small) and also convert to a normal front facing buggy, and also come with carseat although car base bit not essential as currently we dont have a car!!

-must be light(ish) as will be used on buses alot, and must be able to collapse/open with one hand

-must last (as will be used for DC1 and then subsequent DC's)

  • budget up to £300 (with all bits i.e footmuff, parasol and rain cover)(max!!)
  • prefer plain colours (although obv nt most important point!)

-prefer a well known brand although not essentially

anyone care to dazzle me with oppurtunities???

Thankyou all

could you stretch to £359? if so get a bugaboo bee. i like the look of the bebe confort streety but don't know anyone who's used one.

MrsBadger · 19/03/2008 12:40

well I can cut down your needs at a stroke by saying if you don't have a car there is no reason to get a travel system - they're generally heavy and hard to fold anyway.
Get a buggy that fits the criteria then think about a carseat seperately (if you need one at all).

You should be thinking along the lines of a M&P Pramette
Silver Cross 3D
Silver Cross Dazzle
Graco Cleo
etc

a mamas and pramette they r fab excellant for buses and walking

CarGirl · 26/03/2008 09:09

someone who works in a nursery store was saying they had lots of returns of the silvercross 3D and not to buy it on! Mamas & papas are overpriced for what you get and their replacement parts are very pricey - useless customer service too!

I would second the bee and ask around and see if you can borrow a baby car seat if you are really not going to use one.

iloverosycheeks · 26/03/2008 09:14

Pramette is really good option for your needs, however I would second their terrible customer service and certainly don't buy from their website, buy from a shop if you must. I had a pramette and it broke repeatedly, ended up getting my money back after long battle with them. M&P are evil!!

HappyNewYearFeet06 · 26/03/2008 10:16

Bee is a good option.

Pramette also good for rearward/forward facing option and ease to fold or the new Pliko Switch.

graco cleo! best pramette out atm imo and good customer service!
