i do drive too. With my DD, i was carrying the carseat with me but it crippled me! as DD was a 9lb 1oz baby and she put the weight on very quick. (we also tried a baby carrier but my dd was too heavy)

Do i have to get a travel system pram??

had same problem with two massive babies and did end up getting a travel system sorry!

I'm being stupid - why can't you just leave the seat in the car and push the baby in the buggy when you get to your destination?

Also - re the baby carrier - which one did you have? Some are much better than others at distributing the weight - someone on here may be able to point you in the direction of one that will work better for you

NL mine woke when I tried that, personal things I suppose - have only just managed to start lifting dd2 out the car whilst sleeping and into the house without waking her, she is now 21months

NorthernLurker · 06/03/2008 09:58

Right - I get you. Travel system is probably the only way round that one then.

biglips · 06/03/2008 09:59

just incase i dont wake the baby up from getting it out of the carseat into the pram iykwim? or should i not be concerned about that?

we tried the tomy roma baby carrier as it was the straps on the shoulders that was causing the prob as my shoulders was getting dragged down.

A MeiTai carrier distributes the weight really well, but a ring sling is fine until 25 lbs or so. I still carry DS and he's 16.5 kg.

He always goes back to sleep very quickly in a carrier as they are cuddled up nicely to you - quite different from a baby bjorn where they are in the carrier rather than held against you.

well i had an emergency c-section so i couldnt use the baby carrier till the baby was a few months old.
