Doll's pram - recommendation needed

Thinking about buying one for my 'baby-obsessed' daughter who's 2 and a half. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Do you actually want a pram or a pushchair?

If the latter will do, ignore all the expensive Graco and Mamas and Papas one (they wanted about 50 quid for one!!) - Woolworths do an unbranded toy pushchair for around 5 quid - my 18mth old ds loves pushing it round and round (although teddy gets thrown out if he wants to go for a ride - he transports his cars instead!!!).

They may well do prams as well, so worth a quick look at least.

We've got one of the cheap little buggies and its brill. Only problem is that its fine in the house but struggles on the rough terrain around here. So we decided to buy her a more robust 3-wheeler this christmas (shes 2.5 too) and I ended up posting on mumsnet for recommendations too.

Anyway following that I bought one through www.grobag.com (under Elements) and its just arrived. Its absolutley brill. Looks very solid. Folds up very simply (my cheap one is fidly) and looks gorgeous. I'm sure she is going to look it. BTW ignore the warning they give on the site about it being on backorder. I phoned to check and they told me they were due in this week and it arrived the following day. Costs £30. ELC also have a good mammas and pappas version and they also do a proper pram too but not sure of price.

We've also got a £4.99 buggy from Index - dd adores it and uses it every single day ! Argos also do one for £4.99 - I say "Pay no more" !!

I agree that the cheap, light, little strollers are great when your dd is still small. However by the time my dd was 3 she ready for the slightly more 'complex' ones, which have been worth the extra cost as it has been her most played with toy (beside the baby dolls!!!). We bought her a Chicco one that reclined, has a rain cover and basket underneath - sort of a junior version of their big ones. It was about £25 from Argos I think. She just loved the extra features - using the basket to put baby thngs in like I do, and reclining it to let the baby doll to sleep. She still uses it now and she is 41/2. I also like it as it does fold down (unlike another one that we were given) which has meant that we can easily take it with us if we have go away and I can fold it up and carry it, if it has become to hard for her to push it while we are out walking!
