So, if I really liked the Hug-a-bub but found it a bit too much of a faff, would the Tricotti be the best option

With DS, loved the comfort of the Hug-a-bub for DS and for me -- but I did weary of putting it on, taking it off, tightening it, etc., etc. whenever I needed to extract DS.

Now I'm expecting DD in (gulp) five weeks or so and thinking through sling options.

Reading BroccoliSpears' recent thread, and following up reading the Tricotti manual, I am wondering whether that's the ideal solution? It seems a lot less bother, but then the manufacturers would say that...

I'm going to go for hotslings or coorie this time. They both seem easy to put on.

Just spotted a thread on slings further on that mentions the Tricotti if you want to have a look.

My friend has a tricotti and while it was really good, it was too hot for summer. Why not get a ring sling? Easily adjustable, multi-positions, and very portable.

I had a Hug-a-bub last time that I had a love-hate relationship with....have got a Close carrier this time which is less faffy although still not perfect, but at least there aren't 5 metres of fabric to trail in puddles.

I had a hug-a-bub and loved it but would probably try the Close Baby Carrier if I had a newborn

DualCycloneCod · 28/02/2008 11:00

bub shudder

amazonianwoman · 28/02/2008 11:00

Oops

As Slacker said...!

tricotti is EXCELLENT but like corriedale says you will wilt in summer. i couldn't use mine past May in Scotland. brilliant for a winter baby, though.

PortAndLemon · 28/02/2008 11:27

I don't want a ring sling because I want the weight distributed across both shoulders evenly (prone to back twinges and have slight scoliosis).

Hmm... I see on thebabywearer.com that someone suggests just using two regular lightweight pouch slings in the same way as the two bits of the Tricotti.

I had been wondering about the Close Baby Carrier before hearing about the Tricotti -- may see whether I can see one in action.

Thanks!

close baby carrier is very very good

i have tried most well known slings, i think...

cbc like a tricotti only adjusitable

Fillyjonk · 28/02/2008 11:32

oh and the advantage of the cbc over 2 x ring slings is that it is a. cheaper and b. there is actually another wrap involved, though you could improvise

try sasa slings, they hire them out
