PLEASE help me find this sling

A mum at my little girl's Jungle Gym has a fab looking sling. I asked her about it and she told me she got it on Little Possums, but I can't find it there.

She also told me what it was called. Twice. And I can't remember!

It's all soft - no buckles or rings.
It looks as though it comes in two bits, but it probably doesn't.
It's like two sashes worn on each shoulder, making a cross across your back and then a cross across your chest. You can lie a newborn in the pouch made by the cross at the front, or sit him up once he can sit. He can face you or face out. You can put a smaller toddler on your hip in it.

It's all soft and simple and lovely. I must have it!

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

possibly the one that was on that bringing up baby programme. cannot for the life of me think what its called......

MerlinsBeard · 27/02/2008 21:35

this?

bruhaha · 27/02/2008 21:40

look here this page

i bought the moby d woven wrap which doesn't have buckles or rings and you tie it in a knot at your side. the material is lovely. you can hire from sasaslings so you can decide which one you want to buy.

fingerwoman · 27/02/2008 21:45

sasaslings is excellent.
was going to suggest moby too, tis very very lovely

SparklyGothKat · 27/02/2008 21:46

is it a hugabub?

BroccoliSpears · 27/02/2008 21:48

I think the Close Baby Carrier may well be it!

If you look on this page it looks like Charcole, Natural or Rouge, rather than Olive or Pistachio. But could definitely be that one and she just wasn't wearing it the second way.

Will now investigate how it works exactly...

Thank you!

Sounds like a Tricotti to me

ChirpyGirl · 27/02/2008 21:50

A close baby sling does have rings on the side for adjusting.

fingerwoman · 27/02/2008 21:50

the close baby carrier has rigns though doesn't it?

if it has definitely got no rings or buckles then it must be a wrap surely?

jellyrolly · 27/02/2008 21:54

I've got the Close Baby Carrier, it's been fantastic. So cosy, easy to use and great to get little babies to sleep.

I would say that once my huge heavy baby got to about 4 months he was sagging too low to allow me to walk tho! Have you got a dainty one?

taczilla · 27/02/2008 21:54

It sounds like mine ie a tri-cotti which is fab by the way.

SparklyGothKat · 27/02/2008 21:55

hugabub

bohemianbint · 27/02/2008 21:56

ellaroo?

BroccoliSpears · 27/02/2008 21:57

Yes, further investigation reveals that the Close Baby has rings.

Off to investigate Tricotti...

I reckon a tricotti.....am loving mine too!

fingerwoman · 27/02/2008 21:59

it's definitely a wrap I'd say. little possums has various ones.
the differences between them are just the fabric in essence. ie, woven, stretchy or fleece.

fantastic to use
I still easily use the moby with ds2 who is 4 months old and around 17lb

BroccoliSpears · 27/02/2008 22:02

Tricotti. It has to be. Like two big stretchy sashes, one over each shoulder. Hers was in a lovely soft material.

Definitely not ellaroo. Doesn't look like hugabub.

Is the Tricotti good? I guess it's personal preference.

OP posts:
fingerwoman · 27/02/2008 22:04

ahh but with the ellaroo, or hugabub, or any wrap you can have the main part UNDER the 2 shoulder bits. so it would look much like the tricotti then anyway

BroccoliSpears · 27/02/2008 22:04

And thank you!!

A tricotti is very straightforward and comfy. I don't drive and walk a hell of a lot with a 3.5 year in tow. I am a size 12 and wear a small as it is non adjustable it should feel snug and it grows with the baby and you just wash it to reshape it from time to time. My dd is now 5 months and it is still very comfortable I think the secret it to wear your sling frequently from birth so as your baby grows so does your stamina.

BroccoliSpears · 27/02/2008 22:53

But are my colour choices seriously black, brown, cream or red?

OP posts:
fingerwoman · 27/02/2008 22:56

get the moby, get the moby

BroccoliSpears · 28/02/2008 11:43

Why is the Moby better?

OP posts:
belgo · 28/02/2008 11:47

I liked the tricotti. It was comfortable for between 4 and 10 months when the baby can face outwards; I didn't feel my baby was so secure in it as a newborn.

belgo · 28/02/2008 11:48

I've got a navy tricotti
