P&T's Cocoon, where do you put baby when they have outgrown cocoon but not able to sit up?

My DS is 9.5wks old and his feet touch the end of the cocoon and his head touches the other, I think I can still squeeze him in it for a couple more weeks as he quite likes having his knees bent and up a little.
What do you do once they outgrow the cocoon? Do you just lay them in the part of the pram where the cocoon goes?

I used a sheepskin but you could just line it with a blanket

I was thinking of not getting a cocoon at all, DB3 will be a July baby so the chances are he/she will be too big for the cocoon before we need it for the colder weather then?

Do you think it would be OK to use a sheepskin or large blanket for a newborn?

Thanks for your replies.

TB tried DS in the pram without the cocoon, it was in singles mode and it was fine but a bit awkward to get in and out when in doubles mode.
Did you use the buckles to hold your DC in place?

SK I think in the summer not using a cocoon would be ok for a newborn but I personally would find it tricky lifting them in /out if you've got the doubles seat on it in front for older child.

Loucee - yes I used the straps when I didn't use the cocoon
I had a March baby so used it for a while
Once the baby gets bigger they get easier to pop in and out, by 4 mths I'd moved to the doubles seat

SK - in summer I wouldn't use a cocoon, sheepskin or blanket would work better
(unless we have another rubbish cold summer!)

I had this problem with the P&T as DS2 was too big to lie flat for long and too small to sit up properly, he lolled around.
I saw this product recommended (sadly too late for us) but it might help your DS once you put him in the seat but he is still too small to hold his head up

thanks for the link PC. I hope to be able to lie DS flat for a couple more months yet, we walk alot and dont fancy him being propped up for long periods of time.
