Just wondering if there is an upper age limit for carrying babies in the froggy position in the babyhawk mei tai carrier.

TIA!

I think it really goes down to what you think, try legs out, if it doesn't feel right keep with froggy legs. Your dd will soon tell you if she isn't comfy

kiskideesameanoldmother · 24/02/2008 11:46

you are getting into this sling palava aren't your RGPargy?

RGPargy · 24/02/2008 17:02

PopTart - thanx. We went froggy in the end and she was fine all the time we were walking around etc but when i started taking her out, she really kicked up a fuss so i dont know if she was uncomfortable being froggy. Will try her with legs out next time as she is growing so fast so will probably be ok with it now.

Kiskidee - yup, i love baby carrying!! I feel much more mobile, than with her in a pushchair, IYSWIM?!

My dd is 15 months now, and I have never used a buggy It just doesn't work with my lifestyle. But I have far too many slings lol

RGPargy · 24/02/2008 18:16

Oh wow, good for you!! Slings are addictive, aren't they?!! I've got a freedom sling, a buckle up carrier thing, a Wilkinet and a Babyhawk. I have to say that the Wilki and Babyhawk are my favourite - They're brilliant!

It would take too long to list mine, embaressingly.... I spend alot of time on thebabywearer, and it has lead me to spend far too much money on things from the US

RGPargy · 24/02/2008 21:57

LOL!! I've never been on the site, simply for fear of doing the same - spending too much money!! DP was already starting to roll his eyes at me when i looked at him doe-eyed because i wanted to buy another carrier.

I have to say tho, i do quite fancy one of those wrap things too. I think they scare me a bit tho so i'm a bit unsure about spending money on them.

Out of interest, do you not have to drive anywhere etc? I'd find it quite hard to try and "sling up" DD when i got out of the car because the sling/carrier would be dragging on the floor at first and it would get all dirty!!

Well I have to admit, I like Mei tais with dark straps for that reason but I have also just bought a toddler patapum which is really dull but fantastically comfy, and no strap problem! I am also looking at the sleepy nicos as a potential as well - have you seen them, they look fab!

I love wrapping, but sadly my dd has started protesting and therefore I have been selling all of my wrap stash off They are really comfy though- as long as you get a good supportive one. I just take a while to get my dd in position and she gets a bit angry.... So I never got very confident. But I am 100% confident with mei tais in public, I love the astonished looks as I throw my dd on my back

PopTart · 24/02/2008 22:40

btw - You should join rumplebums forum - lots of sling lovers on there

kiskideesameanoldmother · 25/02/2008 15:12

you can tuck the shoulderstraps into your front pockets if wearing jeans/trousers. You cab also try shortening them with an elastic band so they are not so long they drag on the ground. (tip remove the elastic band before trying to tie up.)

PopTart · 25/02/2008 15:56

That is a great tip - I am just useless, and don't do such clever things

PopTart - If i join rumplebums will i end up buying loads of carriers??

Kiskidee - Good idea about the lacky bands! I might have to try that.

kiskideesameanoldmother · 25/02/2008 20:20

Poptart, is Rumplebums overmoderated like theBabywearer?

RGPargy · 25/02/2008 20:30

lol, you naughty girl!! You'll get me into trouble with DP for spending yet more money on carriers!!!

OP posts:
PopTart · 26/02/2008 08:13

Rumplebums is a small community of people, and it is very friendly, and not over moderated at all imo, apart from spammers that join in their droves sadly and post about penis extensions and the like

UKbabywearingswop is the devil

RGPargy · 26/02/2008 08:24

I might have a scooch over to rumblebums in that case!
