Any dvd's he wants? Have just bought dh Northern Exposure which I know he will be delighted with. There are loads of old tv shows available on dvd now - can you think of anything he used to love?

cupcakes · 10/12/2004 19:39

...got it on Amazon for less than £10...

misdee · 10/12/2004 19:40

Tickets to see a show?
Something in the line of food or drink (if he's into that) You could get a great foie gras or some excellent booze for that amount.
A really nice tie?
Smart belt?

misdee · 10/12/2004 19:44

sorry, should say dh cant drink due to medication.

That's a bummer!
Hmmmmmmmmm, how about a nice shirt?
Boden ones are great (so lazy that I buy all our clothes from them and dh has a v. nice selection of shirts from there.)and they've got a sale on now haven't they? They're also an excellent company-deliver promptly, nice people, no quibbles about anything.

misdee · 10/12/2004 19:50

he has loads of nice shirts, but nowhere to wear them. same with ties. could get him some gift vouchers for somehwere, but have no idea of what he'd like. he dresses casual as thats all hee needs to be really.

got him green day tickets for jan already, just checked on ebay and man those tickets are pricey, glad i got them the day they came out. i know he really wnats to go see a west end show, and i;d love to as well, which ones are good?

If you're thinking about tickets for a show, WH Smith are selling gift packs at the moment which you can use to buy tickets for the West End or regional theatre show of your choice. They're priced at £20, £30 and £50, your dh could then decide which he fancied seeing.

GlitterGrommit · 10/12/2004 20:05

Does he play chess? I got Dh an electronic handheld chess game... Also - the Lord of the ringsw DVD and latest U2 CD...

misdee · 10/12/2004 20:06

WWb, any show? there are so many to choose from. and i know dh really wants to do the whole deal (dinner, show, hotel) but think that may be out of my price range slightly.

A few years ago, I gave dh a radio for the shower - he adores it, has it permanently tuned to Five Live which I refuse to have on the bedroom radio. He listens while he showers and shaves.

tillykins · 10/12/2004 20:24

Oh dear, I can't think of anything
err, could you get him something like those photos of your house taken from the air? Or is that too naff!
Or if you can't think of one present, how about lots of smaller things, some books, some smellies, some toys - you know like puzzle cubes, gadgety things, some chocolate???

misdee · 10/12/2004 20:27

i'd love to get him a visit to goodison park, and see a match etc, but its such a long way to travel.

The Producers is on at the moment and has had spectacular reviews. Suspect it will be expensive though.

WigWamBam · 10/12/2004 20:39

Misdee, the theatre pack is valid for shows at over 50 West End theatres, 50 regional theatres, and any Ticketmaster event at any venue.
