nut i think this trike is lovely but after dd1+2 disartious incidences with trikes, in which they cant actually pedal the darn things, i am wary of getting one for dd3, epsecially now as she is almost big enough for a bike.

but if i was a triky-buying type then i would be considering that one.

That is one cool trike but you might as well go straight to the bike as trikes have a short life except when there handed down. Plus pedaling one a trike is different to a bike so she just get the hang of the trike and she would then have to relearn pedaling on the bike.

I would go for a balance bike over a trike anyday. Something like this -

DD had a puky one and she loved it, also learned to ride a proper bike with just a days practice.
She was never that into her trike, but we used scooters and balance bikes alot.

Balance bikes are a waste of money if you ask me. All you need to do is lower the seat on a normal bike till the childs feet go flat or near to flat on the floor, then take the pedals off. Once they can scoot well on it put the pedals back on and you will find they get the hang of it very fast and encouage them to scoot then put their feet on the pedals. Lastly when they can ride the bike slowly put the seat up to the correct hight.
Did this with dd was riding a bike (without the trainer wheels) at about 3 3/4. Never looked back , plus the added bonus never had to hold the saddle which is back breaking work.
