We have been friends for 20 years but lost touch for a while and only been back for the last 4.6 years. My budget is lousy (£20) and it needs to be something that is easily postable so not too heavy or something that can be sent direct to her as a gift from the supplier if bought on line I mean. TIA.

Back to furniture moving now.

I always love getting novels from friends; something they've enjoyed reading and think I would too.

BirdyArms · 13/02/2008 15:19

A little make-up kit, like one of these benefit ones here I always think it's nice to have something you can play with.

My2Weegirls · 13/02/2008 15:23

molton brown stuff from QVCuk.com (sorry fail miserably everytime i try to do a link)

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 13/02/2008 18:55

Can't decide between this or the happy box. Haven't looked at others yet as too confusing. Need to eliminate one at a time!!

I was delighted to get THIS for my 36th birthday (which incidentally is tomorrow.)

janeite · 13/02/2008 19:07

No offence but Lush might be a bit "teenagery" - Montezumas is fabbo (our local one closed down grrr). Books always a good bet; or maybe a book with accompanying dvd and a box of chocs?

If you're near a Selfridges, they have Clinique bonus time at the mo: you could get an eyeliner and eyeshadow and a big bag of freebies as well, so it would look a lot for around £20.

malovitt · 13/02/2008 19:09

The Burt's Bees stuff is a fab present.

I received that set for a gift and it is wonderful!

QuintessentialShadow · 13/02/2008 19:10

I think Lush is a bit cheapo, and smells too much.

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 13/02/2008 19:14

Okay. No Lush.

The choc confused me.

Don't think I want toiletries now.

Couldn't see the bees thing.

Rococo chocolate much better than Montezumas...

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 13/02/2008 20:09

They look possible. Thanks.

What about a silver necklace? Debanhams do some nice ones for around £20.

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 13/02/2008 20:20

Good idea but she got me a necklace, earrings and PJs for my birthday.

I will be 36 on my next birthday, wish everyone I knew would find something from here for me

QuintessentialShadow · 13/02/2008 21:13

Is she married? Kids?

How about a tote bag or some nice tea cups from Cath Kidston?

Box of Thorntons Chocs?

I second the Molton Brown idea, too.

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 14/02/2008 10:55

She is married and has 2 children. I will also look at the Molton Brown stuff.

janeite · 14/02/2008 19:32

Yes MB stuff would be good but it might be a bit heavy for posting?

How about a silk scarf or a pashmina - they're light!!!

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 14/02/2008 19:40

Still not ordered anything. Had a hectic day!!!
