Can anyone recommend a good beaker/drinking cup for my soon to be 2 year old. We use the Tommee tippee ones for water but I want one that can be used for milk, isn't fiddly and can be put in the dishwasher and really get clean. Thanks in advance ;o)

Which tommee tippee ones do you use? My ds (2.6)uses the easyflo ones at present. Small ones with handles for milk and tall ones with no handles for juice/water. He uses them without the lids when supervised/sat at table for meals and with lids if out and about or on the move. Did the same kind of thing with dd a few years back and worked a treat. Both also have mugs from picnic sets (bbq stuff from tesco)made from melamine and they also work well for the dishwasher.

gosh - I'm not sure what they are called actually. Perhaps we just need to get him used to having the lid off. Things will get very wet but I guess that's how things have to be to start off with will check which ones we've got. Thanks for that tip... xx

If he has the lid off the cup I only put a 2-3 cms of liquid in the cup at a time, just keep topping it up until he has had a reasonable drink.

I'd just take the lid off. Think we have a similar cup.

DS is 18 months and I've been giving him open cups (under strict supervision) since around Christmas. It was VERY messy to start with, but I was surprised how quickly he got the hang of it. I still use sippy/spout cups when we're out and about.
