What about K'nex?

TinselTamum · 07/12/2004 19:25

Geomag, definitely :)

OnZephyrstdayofXmas · 07/12/2004 19:25

How about those wooden models you can get that fix together - you can get all kinds of animals/dinosaurs etc. They look really really good and are fun to make.
I'll go and find a link to show you what I'm talking about :)

TinselTamum · 07/12/2004 19:25

Oops, sorry, Marsselectionboxlady, that sounded as though I was contradicting you. KNex is also a good idea, honest :)

WhizzzYouAMerryXmas · 07/12/2004 19:28

M&S have some good model type things

Wifeof · 07/12/2004 19:29

Lego!

My ds's bedroom is stuffed full of it, can't get enough of it. You can buy it online too at www.lego.com

MarsselectionboxLady · 07/12/2004 19:29

Didn't feel contradicted darling, was just taking notes. It's always good to have extra ideas. Smile

TinselTamum · 07/12/2004 19:30

K-nex?? I don't know what age they're from though.

MiaouyChristmas · 08/12/2004 10:50

Or does he like to make things to keep, eg models?

We got dd1 aged 7 a carpentry set for christmas, only I can't find the link to it now! Will look later.

MarsselectionboxLady · 08/12/2004 11:23

My DS1 had k'nex from about 6 or 7 and loved it. Smile

I bought some of the horrible history science kits (a fiver each from Purves & Purves) to make eyeballs and heart experiments..there are also kits on amazon to make and "dig" out your own dinosaur..or is he more arty and crafty?

Cha · 09/12/2004 15:35

Wow - these all look fab, cheers. What is geomag? And it's too late to order online, isn't it?? Would I be able to get this sort of stuff at Hamleys or somewhere in Hell, I mean Oxford Street?

OP posts:
TinselTamum · 09/12/2004 18:13

There are some expensive sets on the \link{http://www.hamleys.com/web/search/?Keywords=geomag\Hamley's website}, so I would guess they'll have a good range in the shop. They start at around £10-15 I think, so don't worry about the prices of the ones I've linked to! Usually lots on eBay too.

alarm kit (wire up bedroom to alarm against sibling intruders) was popular with my nephew. Also robot kit. From natural world i think
