Any suggestions? Looking for shops or brands that are cut well for this sort of figure. Doesn't have to be dress tousers - smart cas. is good.
Rather desperate as only have 2 pairs of trousers that fit properly.
Thanks!

I have this problem too and quite like next although I do find the waists gape quite a bit sometimes.

OMG - Next! I've always had wide hips and the only one time I was so desperate for a particular pair of trousers that I kept going up in sizes, I had to go up at least 5 sizes before I found a pair that would actually go over my hips. And when I did, even when I pushed my tummy right out the waistband did not make a single point of contact with my body! I thought Next was just for well skinny ladies.

For me Monsoon is by far the best - I hardly have to take them up at all and they fit very nicely around my middle & hips. I even have to go down a size quite regularly! And I'm afraid that M&S are very good - especially because they do length fittings.

this is my figure to a T and I have just buoght the best pair of trousers ever from M+S limited collection range - think it is called Topaz and they make my trunks look great = they have a dropped waist so don't get loads of fabric gaping round there as usually hapens when trying to get bum covered.. they flare out to a nice width and are jsut fab... and only 35 quid! Several colours and materials... am going to buy them all - also come in several lenghts

hazlinh · 06/12/2004 09:15

I only ever buy trousers from M&S!! Only because they do all different sorts of lengths for each size (I'm a short!!) Blushand their stuff lasts a bloody long time!!!!Smile

Gobbledigoose · 06/12/2004 09:54

If you get them a bit lower cut, the waist should be less of an issue. I find Next OK but still find the waist a bit too big.

If you've got shorter legs I'd go for bootcut too worn with a heel.

ooh! So helpful and such a good excuse to go shopping! Now I just need the time and the money.. Grin

Same problem, nice to hear I'm not alone! Hey, ladies, at least we still have small waists. I buy trousers at M+S; very unimaginative, very easy to get right size, big change rooms, no ultra-trendy sales assistants looking snooty.

I'd go for the longest trousers to cover most of your feet, slim at the top with flared out at bottom. Get what ever size fits your bum and go to a decent dress maker and get the waist altered to fit you exactly - should only cost about £10.
