how good is he at train sets etc?

DS was 8 when he got it

the cars were different I think

ours are sort of ralley sport cars.

It does take up quite alot of space though

but is good fun Smile

codswallop - Am I right in thinking you already have the 'my first scalextric? or am I getting you mixed up with someone else? It's just that my then 2 1/2 YO got the 'My First' one last year and got bored quite quickly with it, so we have since bought \link{http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1047721\This} at a very nice £20 as it had a damaged box! Anyway, the two tracks join together to make an even super doupa track, that doesn't take up too much room. I'm assuming they are the 'micro' size ones. If you did buy one that would match your existing set, again you'd have more 'spare' track.
