Electronic personal organiser thingy

Having discovered that my short term memory is often down to about 5 seconds at the moment, was thinking about a personal organiser thingy that I could basically treat like a notebook but being electronice I might think about taking a bit more care with it.

I want to be able to keep a list of things that need doing, buying etc.

Was looking at Palm Pilot type ones like this and was thinking this was rather expensive (I realise they can cost more!). So was wondering what ones like this or this even are like. Would they be able to do what I want?

I think that if all you want is a diary, to do list and address book a really simple one would do fine (although if you have a choice of these organisers go for the one with the most memory). I've got an ipaq and frankly all I use are these three functions so all that extra money was a bit of a waste of money. Although that said you need to consider whether or not you are going to want to be able to syncronise it with your computer (handy to back up your information in case you lose or drop it) if so, you may have to get something a little more fancy than the very basic models.

Don't really think I want to be able to link to the computer - all I need really is a notebook .

I was thinking that a more expensive one might just have functions that I didn't use.

Suppose I ought to go somewhere where I can try one out, rather than jsut looking at Argos online!

I have five bloody personal organisers - people just keep buying them for me. I find a common A5 diary suits better - you just have to make sure that you write everything down in it. Mines a lifesaver, wouldn't be without it. Stuff the electronic versions.

But I want an electronic one . I am no good with diaries - every year I get one and don't use it. I hope the excitement of an electronic one might help me.

Of your 5 useless electonic organisers, joashiningstar, which is the simplest and how much information can you put on it (unless they have all been consigned to the bin and/or trodden on ?

TBH, have been through several electronic organisers - the biggest factor for not using them is the time to power it up then find the information you need - thus you end up not bothering.

If you want the excitement factor, how about buying yourself a nice filofax type organiser - more likely to be used but still get the thrill factor (or is that just my stationery fetish coming out?!)
