Is buying a wii cheaper in the US or in the UK?

No idea about pricing, but a US one may not work on a UK TV because of the different format - Europe is PAL, US is NTSC - you know how DVDs come in Region 1 or 2 or whatever?

You can get multi-region DVD players but I don't know if Wiis can be multi-region, or if there might be a switch on them to change?

That's from here, posted by an American in Nov 06, although there are other sites that say they were supposed to be region free.

Anyway I don't think they'll be cheaper - amazon.com has none in stock (there is a shortage there the same as here) and merchants are selling them at $400+

they prob are cheaper, I know dses were when we went over there, and you then go and get a UK adaptor. BUT I do agree that they are most likely region locked. We were told that dses weren't but I'm fairly sure that wiis would be region locked.
