My condenser tumble dryer is really confusing me.

I have a condenser tumble dryer, and, have had to wash a duvet which hold a hell of alot of water and we usually have to empty to container 2 or 3 times.

Now hears the weird bit,

Neither DH nor I have had to empty if for a while, there has been no water in it whatsover.

We've checked inside, around and underneath the dryer just incase there is a leak and there is NOTHING nada, nothing to explain where the water is going/has gone.

Anyone have any ideas?

Is it because you've not switched the drier on?

[snigger]

No sensible ideas I'm afraid

Its not one of the new fangled self emptying ones and you accidentally set it to that is it?

Radley · 28/01/2008 16:54

Nope, very very basic settings on the front.

Arghhghghghgh! I had this - what kind of flooring do you have?
We had a playroom with laminate which is where the dryer was and the drier was "leaking" water onto the laminate that was then soaking it up underneathand wrecked the flooring and skirting.

I moved it to my conservatory stone floor and when it failed again after the repair it was easy to spot.

Heard its very common too.

thanks, yes we have laminate flooring will double check again and not use it till its sorted, think I'll have to get the engineer out as it's still under warranty
