Phil &Ted carrycot - how long did you use yours for your baby?

Our DS2 is just 10 weeks (and I'm still alive to tell the tale ha ha!) and we bought a p&T for him and his older brother. We bought the carrycot for DS2, but he already seems a bit big for it. What do I do with him now? How old was your bub when you got him out of the carrycot?

My dd stayed in the cocoon until she was around 4 months but she is fairly petite. I still use it now and she is nine months old but not when the second seat is on. My friend who had a bigger baby used hers for eight weeks or so and then he would not fit at all.

I used ours a lot until about 10 weeks then put DS2 into the reclined back seat with a kaiser footmuff to make it all lovely and snuggly.

I think maybe a head hugger of some description might have been useful to help me make the change, but otherwise it has been fine.

I he doesn't fit in cocoon just lie him in the back of the pushchair as without the cocoon he will have a lot more room. With p&t there is a month or so at 4/5 months where baby doesn't really look comfy in bottom but is too small to change to seat. I thought one of these looked like a good idea but only saw them when it was too late for my dd www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplayA_202_10751_-1__22840_10001_

I used to lay DS in back of buggy in buggysnugle when he grew out of carrycot(bit of a fiddle getting him in and out , but he wasn't ready to sit up at 10 weeks) went into seat postion at 5 months.
Slow to want to sit

Great minds washersaurus Mind you ten weeks is very young to be in reclined seat. I prefer to keep baby flat as long as possible.

Washersaurus · 25/01/2008 22:39

Thinking about it, it was probably more like 14 wks when I moved him, but I definitely started thinking about it at 10 weeks.

He has always been very strong holding his head, sitting and standing up so I wasn't too worried about putting in the seat before the recommended age.

Washersaurus · 25/01/2008 22:54

Now I sound really wishy washy! I should have done a search as I started a thread about it myself when I was thinking about it. Sensible MN advice made me put off moving him sooner.
