I was asking which would be the best hair straighteners for long, quite fine hair and which would cause the least damage.

and...was hoping someone knew how to stop perfectly blowdried STRAIGHT hair from going wavy the second i step out the house???

anyone

dawnie1 · 29/11/2004 14:29

Hair straightners, esp GHDs are the BEST invention in the world (well apart from bread, the tyre, the automobile, space travel etc-but they can't straighten your hair.)
My GHDs turn my frizzy, unruly mop into glossy silkey locks, if you use the hair oil they don't dry out hour hair and if you uses a little serum afterwards it waterproofs your new style against damp, drizzle, moisture etc.

spacemonkey · 29/11/2004 14:31

oh my lord, wish i hadn't said anything now, i was only thinking about it!

me x 1 million

spacemonkey · 29/11/2004 14:36

without wishing to do myself out of a sale, I am sure I've seen threads on here about ceramic straighteners that cost about £30 that are allegedly just as good as GHDs?

It's just that I don't want to part with them for less than about £70 (still boxed), and frankly if you could get something just as good for half the price that's surely the best option!

me x a million billion zillion so ner

nailpolish · 29/11/2004 14:40

doziduck -

sm - stop backpedalling

seriously, thats still a good price, but i think dh has already bought mine (fingers crossed) so dozi can have them. and no, there is none as great as ghd imo

Tetley · 29/11/2004 15:06

I got some on e-bay last week for £13.99! They are really good - are solid ceramic plates, rather than coated (the last ones I had wer eHair Tools ones which were coated & the coating came off after 12 months).

I've obviously only had then a short while, but they seem very good, & the reviews on e-bay were good. Have a look here if interested.

doziduck · 29/11/2004 15:19

was wondering about
these

or even those wet to straight ones

JanH · 29/11/2004 15:20

Oh, my hairdresser was talking about glass ones the last time I saw her, she seemed to think they were better than ceramic.

crunchie · 29/11/2004 15:24

Tetley, they look good. I want something for occassional use (once every week or less) these look great, do they work well?

Tetley · 29/11/2004 15:31

Crunchie - they're certainly good so far - I use them a couple of times a week & they've been fine - probably used them 4 or 5 times so far. I decided that for that price they were worth a try! They arrived the day after I paid for them too!

crunchie · 29/11/2004 15:37

Well They'll do for over Christmas etc. At that price it's rude not to!!
