ds1 2.8yo
ds2 6mo

until now have had a mothers help so managed just fine with the farkaboo plus maclaren

she leaves next week

will the farkaboo + buggy board suffice, or is it too much to expect a 2yo to stay put on the damned thing for an hour or so at a time?

by 2.8 dd2 wouldn't get in a damn buggy at all

much wailing and kicking

so it has been sat in the wheelchair store for 6 months

it has prob gone mouldy

I got to the same point as you, and just thought stuff it! Life's too short. d1 was 2.6 when dd2 was born, and we managed with slings and two buggies at weekends etc.

Decided that it was too much hassle when dd2 was about 6 months old, gave up and bought a P&T - one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Dd1 is ASD however, and despite being a great & keen walker (original reasoning for not getting a double from the start) has proved little reluctant to behave nicely in shops etc, so having her strapped in at troublesome times is brilliant. Not sure I'd have got a double if dd1 wasn't ASD, but fairly sure I'd have found it tough to not have one even so.

ds1 the opposite

tendency towards laziness (inherited from me, natch)

think we would prob get use from one

but at prospect of decision-making process

and thn do i keep the farkaboo for once i'm only ferrying ds2 around

???

interesting, silverfrog

sling no good. ds2 in training for ironman competition, already 22lbs (too heavy for sling we have)

you are turning into pram hun

can you not borrow one or ask on freecycle/ NCT sale

if you only got 2 months use out of a brand new one you would be

get a double - honestly, it'll improve life immeasureably.

the beauty of the P&T is that it can be used as single only (for times you want to encourage walking) but is lovely and roomy for times when you need to imprison older child, or when older child insists legs are about to fall off etc.

I reckon dd1 will fit in to it until she's about 5 (and she's v tall for her age) - dd2 will be out of it before dd1 is (queuing in shops so not happening any time soon for dd1!)

is one of them really happy in the back seat? i'm claustrophobic and it looks grim to me

dd2 is fine and happy in the back seat.

dd1 could theoretically go in the back seat (weight wise) but haven't put her in there - but that's due to ASD isssues - I reckon she'd panic not being put in the front seat (due to not understanding) and then could well end up pushing against the top seat wih her feet (sensory issues regarding pressure on feet), so we've just avoided that totally.

I know other people have put older children in the back seat and they've been fine.

The view is quite good - dd2 is a nosey little madam and she's always been able to see whatever she wants.

I think she prefers it as she can turn her head and look up at me, whereas from the front seat she can't.
