Fragrance free wipes - which are the best?

Asda's are horrible I've heard. Huggies are really not big or absorbent enough - anyone have positive experiences? I really dont see why they have to put perfume in these things anyway!

mufti · 24/01/2008 17:59

yes, i have always used them.

have also used sainsburys as they were given to me, but stick with boots simply because of the bogof

3madboys · 24/01/2008 18:11

i have always used the tesco fragrance free ones, they are the only ones i found that dont irritate the eczma on my hands.

they sell them in bulk packs as well and have them on offer quite often which is good.

pampers sensitive

MrsBadger · 24/01/2008 20:08

capp is right

raid your mum's airing cupboard for old flannels

BearMama · 24/01/2008 21:32

Am happy to use flannel and water but also want something quicker when out and about. All suggestions v helpful - thanks!

Cappuccino · 24/01/2008 21:33

for when out and about - a flannel in a bag

run under tap in loos

or one of those mini bottles of baby lotion if you want to get fancy

Washersaurus · 24/01/2008 21:35

What could be easier than a flannel and water?

A little travel spray bottle is handy if not within reach of a water supply.

Washersaurus · 24/01/2008 21:37

Think of all the money you could save

C'mon, fragrance free or not - baby wipes are all nasty

JingleyJen · 24/01/2008 21:38

we use these they work really well. if we are out and about - we use these when we are at home]]

BearMama · 24/01/2008 21:40

Does water really get their wee bottoms clean properly? I plan to bathe them with just water at first and I would use just water to clean their face, but I thought a wipe was needed, esp for those initial sticky-poo nappies.
Sorry, didnt make it clear that I meant bum wipes in OP

Aw, cmon, you can't be carrying pooey flannels around in a little bag. Buy some wipes!

Water really does clean y'know it has been used for centuries before chemical filled wipes were invented

Like someone else said, you can always use a bit of baby lotion on a flannel if you feel water not enough, it is very effective.

Cappuccino · 24/01/2008 21:44

why can't you carry used wipes in a bag? you just put them in the washing machine when you are done

that is freakishly squeamish

and water is fine; why you think you would need chemicals to clean your newborn's bum I don't honestly know

JingleyJen · 24/01/2008 21:44

BearMama - they are brilliant because they are textured so that they get it off really easily - if you are uncertain - go into asda / tesco or something and buy a value flannel - chop it in half and try it - you may be surprised.!

CoCo once you are carrying a dirty nappy there is no difference.

Washersaurus · 24/01/2008 21:45

I feel like a bit of bully now, sorry (I'm not really y'know)

MrsBadger · 24/01/2008 21:49

I carry a bag of pooey flannels and pooey nappies.

So there.

Washersaurus · 24/01/2008 21:50

Me too MrsB - TWO boys worth!

BearMama · 24/01/2008 21:55

S'okay I dont feel bullied! Always interesting to get everyone's POV.
I really dont want to use chemicals if I can help it, just thought water alone might be drying. But as you say, some baby lotion could help there.
