Xmas pressie for MIL, any ideas?

I've just realised that I haven't bought for her yet she's hard to buy for really at 82 as she has everything. Any ideas?

My Gran is 87 and I usually get her a hamper of goodies which I personally choose for her. She can't normally afford luxury foods so seems to appreciate a big box of goodies such as canned crab, salmon etc which she can use throughout the year.

My MIL is older than that, JD - she usually manages to drop some heavy hints in a very light way! Recently we (us + SIL and family) have given her a camera, a lawnmower and a VCR - can't remember what else offhand but I can ask her and DH if you like?
How about a radio/CD player (and some CDs)? Or a subscription to one of those DVD rental services?

Owl ornament
Tea-towels
OK am being harsh
What sort of 82 year-old is she? They seem to vary. Can you get your baby/ies to make a nice calendar for her? Or buy a canvas and get them to make a nice painting for her? Or frame a nice family pic?
I am buying my MIL:
- hat and gloves set (spot on FD!)
- Mackintosh Pen from Past Times
- Victorian style small tins of sweeties for handbag
- Shower radio
- Himalaya book by Michael Palin
It sounds like a lot but that is the advantage of being in charge of the church jumble sale.

Nicely framed photos of grandchildren always go down well. I'm getting a drawing made of my two boys for their grandmother this year, by a mom I know who does such things.

thanks for all the ideas they're great. The radio/cd is a good idea as my BIL is semi famous and often on the local radio and she has to go out to the car to hear him
