Hello, we are thinking of buying the Koala MacPac child carrier and I wondered if anyone had any comments to make about it? It is the basic MacPac carrier, but I since we will be mostly using it for carting ds around towns as opposed to going on epic mountain adventures, I figured it wasn't worth spending the extra 60 pounds for the Possum. Thanks for any pointers.

Hi, I don't know about the macpac carriers but we havethis and it is brilliant - comfy, easy to put on etc. The macpac would probably be a good choice anyway as they are excellent quality - I have been using their travel pacs for years and they last longer than anything! The are some more on this website see here

Thanks Betty, that site looks great - that is the cheapest I have seen the Possum. Might try on your Vuade too when we go to the shop. Thanks for the tip.

Em - slight hijack - if you're interested and in London, happy to sell you our Possum which has never been used (although put in the car a few times) for, say, £75 (or near offer?). currently taking up lots of space in our cupboard while I pretend we're going to use it soon - DS now 3 so think I'm probably kidding myself.

I am in London, NW, and that sounds good - I like this kind of a hijack . I can't promise that we will give the Possum any more outings than you have, but the intention is there. One thing though, was it just too heavy for you to use?

No, not at all heavy. We were just busier and less inclined to sort out country walks than we intended - also DS quite a good walker early on, and quite light - so we tended to just carry him!

Excellent stuff - then I think we have a deal. Which area of London are you in?

SE 21, which is not entirely convenient for you I suspect. I work at CW if that helps (Jubilee line at least).

EmMcK · 24/01/2008 18:10

That does help - I can just jump on a tube and meet you at the station one lunch time if that suits you?
No great rush, ds is only 12 weeks, but is turning into a giant so am looking forward to day when can backpack him. A Thursday or Friday would suit me best, let me know if this also suits you.

Thursday or Friday next week is fine with me - any time between about 9.30 and 5 is OK, other than 12-2 on Thursday, as my building is very close to the station and I can easily pop down. Do you have an email address I can contact you on (don't want to post my work email address on a public site!)

EmMcK · 25/01/2008 14:20

I do indeed, it is [email protected]. Next Thursday morning would suit me really well as I was going into town, but we can confirm details on email.
