Doesn't need to be a high backed one, just needs to be narrow for when we have an extra one in the rear of the car between the 2 high backed ones? How wide is yours please??

Try this one Graco Highlife

40cm or a smidgin over, across the top handles. Bought for exactly the same reason, it just squeezes in the Passat between the enormo-seats.

Thanks, quite like the height on this as well. Which enormous seats do you put it between out of interest?
Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Umm, Recaro Young Sport on one side, ancient second-hand (from trusted cousins I hasten to add) Britax 2-way seat on the other. It is a bit of a struggle reaching down to do up the seatbelt when the booster is in the middle, a young child would need help.

The Recaro Young Sport is a lovely piece of kit.

not sure if this is right or not but my friend was told in halfords that unless the car has individual seats, instead of a bench seat, its not safe to have 3 seats in a row, the middle one doesn't have to have a seat, as its not safe. Might be wise to ask in halfords or somewhere?

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 27/01/2008 16:19

What age is the booster seat going to be for?

BosworthBear · 27/01/2008 20:51

Not sure what you mean by a bench seat but I have 3 over the shoulder seat belts, the middle occassional seat would be for a 6/7 yr old.

one seat with three seatbelts, not individual seats, iyswim? as I sad not sure if its right but thats what she was told as 3 don't fit well on the normal one!, like in a astra, mini ect

jellies · 28/01/2008 10:10

kiddicare.com we bought the nania, it was the slimmest we found and have managed to fit 3 in 1 rear facing and 2 boosters in a Dawoo kalos!

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 28/01/2008 13:12

I think a 6-7 year old should still have a back on the booster.

jellies · 28/01/2008 17:33

The nania are high back boosters!

jellies · 28/01/2008 17:35

Nania

BosworthBear · 29/01/2008 12:00

How wide is the Nania please? Agree in principle that children aged 6 should be in high backed boosters. I already have 2 of these in constent use, however I just wanted an extra one that could live in the boot for emergencies. I realise that according to the law I don't need one if all of the other seats are being used but I am trying to choose to have one. My old car could take 3 across the rear but this one seems to need a narrower booster cushion. The 2 other maxi cosis still fit ok, and have good reviews, but may be tempted to move to an isofis jane indy in due course.

How many real emergencies do you think you will have? A booster without a back is a pointless piece of equipment in my honest opinion.

BosworthBear · 29/01/2008 14:25

but surely having none would be worse! Could put them in the front seat but prefer to have them in the back.

Does anyone have the Nania width please?

I just think lap belts can cause damage in an accident.

Have you tried googling to get the width or ring the manufacturer?

misdee · 29/01/2008 14:28

bosworth has a 3point seatbelt in the middle though, not a lapbelt.

jellies · 29/01/2008 18:09

Hello, the nania is 36 cm wide I think b ut I can measure it once the boys are in bed!

jellies · 29/01/2008 18:13

Sorry its 38cm at the widest point and its the dreamways I've got
