Buggy for two, but not a double?
betty7 · 25/11/2004 17:00
I've got a 19month old and a four year old. I don't want to have a double anymore, because the older one should really walk more. Does anyone know which buggyies have big enough seats for her to pirch on and off? I think there may be some three wheelers that are okay for this, but don't know which ones...?

Maybe just have a single buggy with a buggy board? doubles are trouble, and you'll hardly need it for long?

so glad you've asked this, as I have a great solution! my ds was 2.5 when dd came along, and I really didn't want a double.
we bought a 3 wheeler (Jane powertrack - brilliant), and ds just straddles over the footplate when he wants a ride. dd loves it as she can see him and giggle, although I must admit it does make steering a bit heavy.
Surely a 4 yr old is walking all the time though? my ds used to ride on the buggy quite a bit at first, but now he's almost 3 he hardly ever does.

On a bad day, my four year old could drag for England. Buggy boards are a dream if you're in a rush with a recalcitrant pixie in tow!
She also liked to sort of stand on the footplates at the back poking her head through the back of the seat and the hood.. i didn't let her but dad did - coz he never had to go anywhere in rush!

Thanks everyone - I think I'll investigate the Jane 3 wheelers; I walk quite a long way on school runs so I think a buggy board would do my back in. Just can't have a double as she never wants to walk!
