Not for exercise but for getting out anger for a 6 year old.

MerlinsBeard · 17/01/2008 10:15

i can't seem to find it on TRU website but know thats where MIL got the one they had from. It was a couple of years ago now though.

sweetheart · 17/01/2008 10:16

my dd has one like this www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3029325/Trail/searchtext%3EPUNCH+BAG.htm. You blow it up and fill the base with water.

Threadworm · 17/01/2008 10:17

We had an inflatable one with a weighted bottom, but it didn't survive for long in the face of my DSs assaults on it. I agree that they are a very good thing for punching out bad feeklings, and they are great fun.

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 17/01/2008 10:18

Do either of them bounce back and hit the child? Not quite the effect I am after but the way he has been behaving......

The shrek one bounces back. Its weighted at the bottom a bit like a weeble. Another thing MIL has used for anger issues is a massive bean bag. They can launch themselves at it and punch the hell out of it and kick it about (although you may not want to encourage that!)

You can get extra beans to make it a bit harder/fuller when it starts to lose shape as well

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 17/01/2008 10:22

We have a couple of beanbags but they are pretty squashed now.

do they help at all? If so, may be worth getting some new beans from a crafty shop

Threadworm · 17/01/2008 10:33

The woods near our house are infested with an invasive imported plant called Himalayan Balsam. Because it is a pest, I can allow my boys to lay into it with sticks and destroy as many as possible. THey love it. It gets out all their destructive murderous rage. Every year as soon as the weed is talle enough they are out there with their specially selected sticks.

I mention this because there might be some scope for slashing and bashing unwanted growth in your garden. Really theraputic.

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 17/01/2008 10:39

I will suggest he uses the bean bag if he is feeling wound up but I will look at getting more beads.
