And if you have, is it big enough or do you wish you had a bigger one?

i ahve a slimline one, and it is fine.

cant believe i am posting about my dishwasher!

JackieNo · 12/01/2008 19:38

We used to have a slimline one, and it was fine when we had 1 DC, but with 2 it started to get a bit more difficult to fit everything in, so when it broke down, we replaced it with a full-size one.

IdrisTheDragon · 12/01/2008 19:41

Like JackieNo, we had a slimline one (purchased pre-children) and when it broke down, we got a full-size one.

twelveyeargap · 12/01/2008 19:45

One came with our house. Thank God it broke down and there was space to put in full size. I can't see the point of the slimline ones. I don't think they use much less energy or water and they're only 15cm narrower than a full size, BUT we still ended up with loads of washing up - for three people!

PrincessSnowLife · 12/01/2008 19:46

We have a slimline and it is fine with 2 adults and one child in the house. It probably goes on five times a week, on one of those short economy settings.

lazarou · 12/01/2008 19:51

We have a slimline one. It's fine, except you have to be careful when putting large dinner plates in as the twisty army thing at the top gets caught on them and won't go round.

missnevermind · 12/01/2008 19:57

We have a slimline one.
Two adults 2 not small children, no problems, might not even go on every day.

MoosMa · 12/01/2008 22:39

Thank you everybody, any more?

I don't really have space in the right place for a full size one so it's either a nicely positioned little one or an out of the way big one.... hmmmm.....

We've got a Bosch slimline one and its fab fab fab! Amazing how much you can fit in if you careful with how you place things. Plus some of the spikey things that hold cups etc are collapsable to give you space for bigger items if needed.

Its only when I do a roast or something requiring a lot of dishes that some of the bigger pots won't fit in along with the other dishes so I just do those by hand or put them in for the next day's load!

blisscake · 12/01/2008 22:45

I have a slim line one and would like a bigger one. There are five of us though and I use it for the baby bottles. I use it twice most days.

CarGirl · 12/01/2008 22:49

I have a slim line one, for 6 of us!!! I don't put pans in but we only put it on once a day at most. We switched from a full size one because we were given the slimline one that was much newer and quieter, I found that it held as many bowls and plates as they are closer together IYSWIM

MoosMa · 13/01/2008 11:31

Thanks everybody, I had just decided that a slimline one would be good for us when DH announced that it wouldn't fit after all so I'm off to find a full size one now, ho hum.....

lazarou · 13/01/2008 11:39

Moosma, that means you can use normal size dinner plates rather than 'diet' ones because they are the only ones that fit in small dishwasher

MoosMa · 13/01/2008 13:28

Yay! More food for me!

OP posts:
lazarou · 13/01/2008 13:33

That's right. Small plate = twice the food. Hurrah!

PavlovtheCat · 13/01/2008 13:35

As far as i know slimeline dishwashers are not economical, uses as much electricity and water as a full size one, but if space is the key, you cant do anything about that.

edam · 13/01/2008 13:38

I'm happy with my slimline Bosch for three of us - a larger one would just take longer to fill up, I suppose.

edam · 13/01/2008 13:38

fill up with dirty crockery, not with water!
