Brought dd one of those musical trampolines from ELC for her birthday. Me and dh went to put it together at the weekend to check it was all ok and it wasn't. None of the holes on the legs match up so we can't get any of the screws in. Rang them up to tell them and they're out of stock, no stores have them either. THey think they're coming into stock in the next 2-3 weeks but can't be sure. I know dd birthday isn't until 23rd Dec but I'm starting to panic that we won't have one for her. I thought I was doing so well and being so organised this year

can u return it, get a refund and get swomething different?

Frizbe · 22/11/2004 09:18

Oh woodpops not good.....fingers x'd they'll get one in stock for you asap. I've found their customer service good in the past, we got dd one of their drums, the rolling musical ones, for a crawling/bashing aid! and on 1st use the battery compartment melted, dunno if batteries fault, drums fault or combination of both, but they accepted it straight back and replaced it and gave us discount of ss's pirate purchase at same time by way of compensation. Fingers X'd they do the same for you.

tbh I doubt that it is only yours which doesn't line up so there would be no guarantee that a replacement would be any better. Funny how they have "old out" so quickly. Think I'd go for a refund myself.

Keep ringing them woodpops, and insist on all local stores being hecked regularly for stock.

ELC made a mistake on my parents order last Christmas and it menat that main parts of DD's present wouldn't be here for Christmas. So dad kept ringing and eventually ELC found the items int wo different stores. They are based in Doncaster. One item they found in Sheffield, the other further away in Bradford. As it was so close to Christmas ELC put both items into taxis (at their own costs) and had them driven over that very day.

Keep bugging them and checking. Their customer service, int he past, has been good IME.

Or ask for yours to be returned and get a refund. Can you get similar somewhere else?

I've not seen one like it anywhere else. It counts with the children, plays music, games etc etc. I think it has sold out so quickly because it only became available on the 15th!!!!

Friends of mine ordered the keyboard and stool for thier DD last Christmas. The first one that arrived was faulty, and they then found they couldn't deliver a replacement until after Christmas. Friends DH did the "you've ruined my daughter's christmas" over the phone (it was the only thing she really really wanted), and they gave them a refund, and sent a replacement free of charge in the new year.
They got round not having one at christmas by writing her a letter from santa explaining the elf that had been making it was poorly, but that her keyboard was really important, and would be ready later. She was over the moon with that, as it made hers even more special when it did arrive first week of the new year, and my friends were really happy, as they got a free £35 keyboard.
I know it's birthday, not christmas present, didn't know wether anything like this might work for you.

Ohhh, I'll give it a go. One of the large stores in Notts have put an order in for one which basically just tells the warehouse that a customer has ordered one so that gets priority when they do come in!!!

Definitely go down the "riuning my child's Christmas/birthday" route. Go the whole sob story "only thing she wants/asked for" "no where else available" "how would they feel like it if they were really disappointing their child" That was the tact my dad took.
