Can newborn sleep in Pilko Pramette?

I've just bought a M&P Pilko Pramette for my not yet born DD and was wondering whether she could spent a lot of time laying down in it, as it is flat, rather than a crib...when I say 'a lot' I mean after feeds when sleeping.

Basically our house is on three floors and we were originally going to buy a crib for the lounge downstairs and then cotbed for our bedroom on the top floor...but now the pram has arrived and I'm wondering if the cotbed is a premature buy as we could have the crib upstairs in our bedroom for the first 4-6 months or so...or am I missing something obvious that I just can't see?

Any advice for a first timer would be great.

Thanks.

I had a M&P carrycot on my 3 in 1 and ds had lots of daytime sleeps there and overnight for the first 3 months if we were away. THe pliko pramette is smaller than mine, but should be fine. I bought a mattress for the carrycot and I assume you could do the same. Without a mattress, the base isn't very comfy. Hope that helps!

Hi, artyjoe, I had a Venezia which has a similar pramette thing. I used it from day 1 with my dd and it was fine.
The base in the Venzia was not really soft so I took the matress from her moses basket and slipped it in. Made it lovely and comfy for her.
Perhaps you have bought the cotbed a bit early but does that really matter, you'll need it eventually.

artyjoe - We had the pliko vanetta carrycot, I bought the mattres to go with it. I had the crib in our bedroom and now dd is in a cot in her own nursery (7 months) It's great for overnight stays too.
I used the carrycot loads and loads. Certainly for the first few months she napped in it all the time. She eventually grew out of it at around 5 months, when she was too alert to nap downstairs anyway.
Use the pramette. It's comfortable and portable. Loved using mine.
