M&P Pliko Pramette - any good?

Buying our first pram/buggy and the M&P Pliko pramette looks to be the best option. The Bugaboo latest one (can't remember the name) was also a possibility but prefer the Pliko. Any thoughts on either?

i have a pliko.. love it!! its so easy to steer and when in pram mode i can see Ds2, so cosy. apparently the new models are harder to steer, i brought mine off ebay

thanks sparkly - things the fact that the baby can face you is a big plus.

I liked the pramette: good basic design and converted easily to a buggy. I don't like the bugaboo at all. DS is too big for the pramette now, so we have a cheapo 3 wheeler which can take his weight!

i brought one when pregnant but DH thought it was too girly, so brought another one with black and white spots. sold my first one last week.

the Bugaboo looks like something from outer space!

I love my Pliko Pramette. It's lasted soooo well (through two babies/toddlers in close succession). It was everything I was looking for - robust, easy to use, comfy, folds away neatly, and best of all no need for a separate carry cot. It was very adaptable. I would recommend it to anyone.

A few of my friends have had Bugaboos and quite a few of them have been disappointed for various reasons (the main reason being that bits have fallen off them, often compromising safety).

so easy to put up and collaspe too. I would recommend it fully.

so easy in fact that DH can it!!

Does anyone else find the foot muff on the Pliko a pain though?

sparklygothkat · 07/01/2008 12:50

not using the footmuff atm, Callum is still tiny so in pram mode, is it hard to use then?

StealthPolarBear · 07/01/2008 13:08

Well I find it awkward, you have to thread the straps through the tiny slits in the foot muff, and that's the only thing that 'attaches' it to the pushchair iyswim. If you leave it in it almost drops out as you are trying to put the pushchair up.
It seems to constantly ride down the pushchair, so once I've got DS in it, I have to pull him forward and yank it up behind him.
Once he's in it does look nice and cosy, but I just get the feeling I'm missing something obvious about it! Is it meant to be attached just by the straps of the pushchair? I have nothing to comnpare it to, so maybe they're all like that!

StealthPolarBear · 07/01/2008 13:09

It's fantastic though when he falls asleep on a walk, tile the pushchair right back and pull the foot muff up to cover him, he looks so cute and cosy when it's all cold outside

i have exactly the same problem stealth
