We have just ordered three new full size beds for our three, Rebecca at long last is getting a room of her own! I now have three toddler beds and one superb Relyon stoaway bed(slept in only twice) to sell, plus pushchairs, double and single and lots of other baby equipment, any offers?

How much for double buggy and where are you? Wasnt going to get one but considering it. Does it have waterproofs?

ScummyMummy · 23/10/2002 23:58

I think triplets said she was in Deal, Kent on another thread?
How's life with your 2 gorgies going, Joe?

Joe1 · 24/10/2002 20:54

Bit far away from me then.

Doing fine thanks Scummy, they are keeping me busy but loving every minute. Ds is amazing me with all the new things he is learning and dd is just gorgeous. I cant believe she is already 4 weeks old.

Hi triplets, not adding anything interesting really but you're very close to me, Im in Ramsgate, Kent!!!

triplets · 28/10/2002 22:28

Hi Bluerose,
I haven`t been to Ramsgate in years! Is there much to do there now beside the beach with little ones? Do you ever come to Deal?

Havent been to Deal for a while, I visit Tides sometimes!, nothing much to do now the weather is turning, loved it in the summer with the beach, the parks, the harbour and even the airport! When I was a bit younger I used to think it was a dull place to live, I suppose now I see it through a two year olds eyes and he loves all the boats, planes and lorrys! Hope you are well.

triplets · 03/11/2002 22:36

Hi Bluerose,
Yes, very well thank you, though tired! Half term has really worn me out, they have been full of it today, went to a party at St Margarets Bay Country Club this pm, it should have worn them out, but no, still going at 9pm! Back to school in the morning, I need a break, I guess I am getting too old for this game! To my shame we have never yet taken them to Tides, can`t bear the thought of struggling trying to dress three of them in a cold changing room, pathetic I know!

triplets, I think taking three 4 year olds anywhere singlehandedly deserves a medal! hope they eventually calmed down after the party.

When I'm struggling to get my 3 and 8 year old ready, I have thought of you from time to time.

I drive my two to Broadstairs quite a lot in the summer, but don't know if there's much in the way of wet weather entertainment. Could you or Bluerose enlighten me - I'd be very grateful.

Jaybee · 05/11/2002 17:05

Tigermoth - ditto - I have relatives who live in River near Dover and Kingsdown near Deal and we often spend a half term down that way - I love it down there, so relaxing to be near the sea and we always try to hop over to France for a day - always looking for other suggestions of things to do especially on wet days - my two are 9 and nearly 6. Funny though, my cousins always envy where we live (Northamptonshire) - grass always seems greener I suppose.

SueDonim · 06/11/2002 16:10

Gosh, the name 'River' caught my eye on this thread. Our first pedigree cat came from a breeder in River, when we used to live in Canterbury. ALso, my half sis and bro's family lived in Dover/Temple Ewell area. Their baby brother is buried at River, I believe.

It's a long time since we've been in that neck of the woods, although we drove through Deal last October when we holidayed locally to visit MIL. I'd forgotten how picturesque it all is. When we were kids we always wanted my dad to drive past the big chimneys at Richborough, we weren't interested in pretty things then!!

BlueRose · 07/11/2002 11:17

I find it easier in the summer around here, lots to see and do outdoors. In the winter its a little more difficult apart from the various childrens indoor play centres. Its such a quiet little area. Triplets I think you deserve a medal too for just getting out the front door with all three!

When the weather was bad at the beginning of this week we stayed in painting and stamping and sticking, playing with play dough etc. Im not sure what else to do when the weathers bad. Any ideas?

tigermoth · 07/11/2002 17:32

Bluerose, re things to do : if it's not too rainy could you take your children fishing? IME even quite young children enjoy this. I suppose this all depends on the coastline - sitting them on the edge of a cliff isn't really on

My oldest son really enjoys fishing off the wooden jetty at Broadstairs, but my 3 year old isn't so impressed with this activity - however he's OK for an hour or so watching the other children and inspecting what they catch.

You mentioned indoor playcentres - can you recommend a good one near Broadstairs?

BlueRose · 28/11/2002 14:23

Hi tigermoth, i dont visit this website as much as i would like to at the moment so forgive the long pauses. I like the idea of the fishing, perhaps when it warms up in the spring would be good, although I would have to teach myself first! Im sure there are various playgroups in Broadstairs most local community centres like the quarterdeck and the churches run them I am sure. Im not aware that there are any other play centres, the play centres I visit are Jungle Jims, a new play centre at Quex House, Birchington, Hippodrome - Ramsgate and Margate, and Charlie Chalks in Margate (with Brewsters Restaurant). When the big co-op at Westwood closed to make way for Tescos Extra the play centre there closed which was a shame, as that was a nice one. Not sure what else to suggest! just stocked up on a large variety of paints and sticking things to do whilst in doors, suited me okay so far as hes just gone into pants and didnt want to drag him out christmas shopping just yet!.

tigermoth · 29/11/2002 11:32

thanks, bluerose, for those suggestions. Possible business opportunity for a Broadstairs indoor playcentre by the sound of it.

triplets · 02/12/2002 11:00

Hi all,
Sorry I have been out of touch for a while, busy busy busy! If you are in this area and its wet, Kids Safari at Whitfield nr Dover is brilliant. Its a huge indoor play area, they van safely climb to the roof with chutes etc. Its aimed at toddlers to 8/9 yr olds and costs £2 something each, no time ban. Mums can sit in the cafe and read the paper, or if there are two of you one can walk over to Homebase or Tescos! Also I know its not Broadstairs but we have one of the best zoos I think around, Howletts at Bekesbourne nr Canterbury. Deal has two castles well worth a visit, and of course its so easy to pop over to France. Harry and I have just come back from our first ever w/end away without the children, we went to Chateau Holtz nr St Omer, its our 3rd time there, good for kids too, but it was BLISS without them, just to sit by a crackling log fire with a glass of wine and silence!!
