We are doing a 3 month trip around Asia and need something as lightweight as possible for my 18 month DS.
I am considering this
or maybe this altough it is very bug it can double up as a sun shade tent on the beach.....

Any advice?

why not one of this sort?

I have the roomo one and it is great as a sturdy travel cot and lighter than others of its type but still WAY too big and heavy to cart round Asia.A pop up one or the litle life one you have on your link would be much better.

I have the littlelife arc 3. DD2 used it on holiday last year, when she was about 13 months. To be honest I was not that impressed. She slept fine in it, but quite awkward to put up - very long poles which crash into walls when you're trying to set it up. My main irritation was that I could not fix a sheet to the bottom of it. I tried various ways, but it would not stay put. She absolutely hated me zipping the door up so had to leave it open - rather worried she'd crawl off!

Having said that it is very light and packs up into a small bag - this was the reason we got it! Once asleep she slept well.

We bought samsonite bubble

It is very light, simple to put up and take down, once you get the hang of it. The website that I linked to has a few reviews, lots of them found it difficult to fold down. I did not think it was that complicated.

Depends on how active your DS is, you might have the same problem as with the arc one. But, compared to a normal travel cot is is much much smaller and lighter.

Thanks for replies. We have used the Samsonite bubble, but he just pushes it over, it needs to be something more structural I guess.

at 18mths, you may be better off just putting him in a bed. My ds would spend the odd night in a big boys bed from this age and i don't think he was particularly early in this regard.

get a bed guard instead
i've been using it for DD2 for at least 6 months now (she is now just 2). i have this one which folds into a bag/fits into a suitcase
babydan

or what about an inflatable ready bed (haven't used one though).

Thank you
